Quick Overview of the 3 programs in ACCESS.ZIP (or ACCESSES.ZIP):

All programs but AccDrop.exe are Windows 3.0 and 3.1 compatible.

ACCESSES.EXE Ver 3.1, Places windows, launches programs, launches
whole desktops, calls your phone, notifies you when alarms are set,
launches programs based on alarm settings, and has a Computer
speaker sound function. Accesses is a must for Intermediate to
Advanced Windows users. Accesses also supports Drag Drop and Font
changes when operated in Win 3.1.

AccDrive.exe displays the current Free Drive Space and alarms you
when the Free Drive Space value is less than your preset alarm point.
AccDrive supports Drag Drop when operated in Win 3.1.

AccDrop.exe provides an alternative method of launching specific
programs in Windows 3.1 by dragging a document name from Windows
File Manager or other Drag Drop server and dropping that document
on AccDrop. AccDrop is Win 3.1 compatible only. The AccDrop window
is the size of the letter 'F'.

Honor System registration.

ACCESSES.ZIP (sometimes called ACCESS.ZIP or ACCESSES.ZIP) contains
3 programs and files for Windows 3.1. In the WIN 3.1 mode
Accesses supports Drag Drop and Font changes.

The confusion with Accesses name is that CompuServe is limited
6 characters and another Windows program is called ACCESS.

All of the Off the WALL Software products are resource and global
memory misers.

HIGHLIGHT OF RECENT CHANGES:

Added AccKernl.exe, a 1440 byte non-resident function to speed
Accesses Ctrl+Esc access from another program.

Fixed a problem initializing the modem for phone calls for some
users modems.

Properly identifying NSHOOK.DLL instead of "NDW Sleeper" for
Accesses to avoid as Norton Desktop's screen blanker.

Added several Text format SOUND files that Accesses can play thru
your computer's speaker. These files can be launched at a
particular time as can any other programs. Since Windows 3.1 has
MIDI, I wanted to add something tiny for those folks who don't have
a sound board that is Windows compatible.

Added a Launch Pad, Call with Ctrl+Alt+L+Esc from any Windows program.

AccDrive now supports Drag Drop.

Ctrl+Alt+P+Esc will open the Phone Dialog Box. Still not using a
Windows Hook so your system stays fast! Added AccKernl so Accesses
is faster.

Now the "Attach to a Function Key" works for WordPerfect and all
other programs!

Accesses will now "melt" with Norton Desktop Sleeper, After Dark, etc.

Reinstalled Global Compacting Memory, I didn't know that people were
using this until I took it out, sorry.

Added AccDrop.exe. A tiny Drag Drop program that will Launch and
place all files dropped into it with a User Defined program. Each
AccDrop is as large as the letter 'F' in the word 'File' of a
Windows menu. AccDrop is compatible with only Windows 3.1.

Added a Windows Write file for the TUTOR.

Accesses' Alarms will now launch programs at a user preset time.

A total list of 11 Programming Commands can now be used in a Folder:

   HideWindow, MaximizeWindow, MinimizeWindow, PauseSecs, PlaceDefault,
RestoreWindow, RunIfNotExist, SendingKey , StayOnTop, NotOnTop,
   SoundFile

This means that you can Hide those icons that do nothing but
take up space when Accesses 1st starts. (e.g., DrWatson). Hidden
windows are still there and are still functional, but they do not
clutter your display.

Accesses now saves the last 26 programs launched and placed by any
program thru Accesses in a Run History. The Run History can be used
to relaunch the programs or can be converted to a Folder and up to 20
programs launched at one time to setup your complete Desktop.

The Free Disk Space program now alarms (blinks and or beeps) at a
minimum value set by the user.

******** OVERVIEW OF ACCESSES.EXE ********

Accesses will Drag Drop files in the Win 3.1 mode and now can change
font sizes to make a tiny window!

Accesses.exe is the main program. Accesses.exe is a major upgrade for
your Windows Task Manager. You need Accesses if you are tired of
dragging windows across your monitor. Accesses.exe will allow you to
select 1, 2,..., up to ALL of your windows from the Accesses Task
Manager and have them:

1. Closed.
2. Sized to your default positions.
3. Minimized, Hidden, Maximized, Restored
4. Split the screen. Have one show on the Top half and the other
on the Bottom half of your screen
5. Moved to one of a bazillion positions

6. Swap apps. and icons,...

Accesses.exe will save up to 1024 window positions for you and will
place these windows anytime, even those that are launched before
Accesses or by another program.

Accesses.exe will launch and place these programs from your current
menu program (e.g., Program Manager, Norton Desktop, or whatever.) For
example to launch NOTEPAD with WIN.INI, you will change the command
line for your menu program to "Accesses notepad Win.ini".

Accesses.exe will launch and place these programs from your WIN.INI
[extensions] so that double clicking on a file name will launch and
place a program. For example a WIN.INI [extensions] of:
"INI=accesses.exe notepad.exe ^.ini" will launch NOTEPAD with WIN.INI
and place that window in your start up position. Accesses' Tutor will
show you, if you do not know how to change the WIN.INI [extensions].

Additionally, Accesses.exe will launch and place up to 20 programs
from a single icon or command from your menu program; with this, you
can configure your whole desktop on your monitor. One desktop can be
configured to launch when Windows first starts. Accesses will save up
to 10 different Desktops and each Desktop can contain up to 20
programs. Accesses calls these Desktops "!Folders".

Accesses.exe has a phone list and will call your phone thru your
modem.

Accesses.exe has up to 10 alarms that can be set and saved to the
Accesses.ini file.

And more... Accesses is addictive.

******** OVERVIEW OF AccDrive.EXE ********

AccDrive.exe is included with Accesses.exe. AccDrive.exe is a tiny
program that keeps a floating window on top of all other windows and
displays the available Free Disk Drive space on your computer.
AccDrive uses less than 1% of your Windows resources and about 10K
and will alarm and blink when a user preset minimum free space is
reached.

******** OVERVIEW OF AccDrop.EXE ********

AccDrop.exe "Ack Drop" is included with Accesses.exe. AccDrop.exe
is a small Window (About the size of the up arrow on a scroll bar).
Each AccDrop program represents a different program. Drag Drop a
file name from File Manager and Drop it on AccDrop to launch that
document using the program name configured with AccDrop. AccDrop
uses less than 1% of your Windows resources and about 10K so you
can always keep 4 or 5 AccDrops on your display.

******** MISCELLANEOUS STUFF ********

All the Accesses programs are compiled to operate only in the Standard
and Enhanced modes of Windows 3.0 and any mode of Windows 3.1. They
will not launch in the Real Mode of Windows 3.0.

Once you understand Accesses, you cannot "Do Windows" without it! To
help you understand, Accesses has a Tutor in Windows Write format.

I thought about calling Accesses "The Juggler" or maybe "Windows's
Jugular".

How much programming do you have to do? None. You move a window and
say save this! But you do have to read Accesses's Tutor, about 7-10
minutes.

What if you run Windows in 800x600 video sometimes and 640x480 other
times. Accesses is for you too. Accesses's place functions are video
mode independent.

Accesses has its own user configurable mini-menu where the user can
add their favorite utilities to launch. Ctrl+Esc from any program and
launch another program from Accesses. Ctrl+Shift+Esc from any Windows
program opens a Run Dialog box where you can select from another menu
of Accesses, or launch any program from your Windows directory, or
click to another directory to launch a program, or ...

Sometimes when you start up Windows, Program Manager or some other
program is minimized or maximized because that is where it was when
you closed Windows the last time. Accesses will fix that!

While launching programs, you'll want to monitor memory usage....

******** MEMORY DISPLAYS and USAGE ********

Accesses' pop-up can be configured to display % Resource Memory Free,
and/or Date, and/or Global Memory Free, and/or time. The pop-up
window of Accesses always stays on top of the other windows and can be
made as small as the word Format on a menu bar. You can Hide the
pop-up if you don't like pop-ups; but some of the Mouse Click features
of Accesses will be disabled. I don't think you'll want to hide the
pop-up. You can even configure Accesses to hide itself after so many
minutes of inactivity so that it does not pop on top of screen blanker
or so that it gets out of your way when you don't need it.

Accesses is now your Task Manager and replaces TASKMAN.EXE. To be
fast, Accesses does keep some of itself in Global Memory. Users
normally have no problem with Global Memory usage.

Accesses is NOT using a windows hook (except when its own dialog box
is opened), so Accesses is not slowing your computer down. The only
significant resource used is a TOTAL of one timer for all of the
alarms/memory gauges and to keep up to 7 pop-ups on top.

******** MOUSE CLICK FUNCTIONS ********

The mouse cursor changes to show you the Left Mouse Double click and a
Right Mouse Single Click functions when you move the cursor over the
Accesses pop- up window. You can mouse click on Accesses to:

1. Pop your main menu to the top focus
2. List your System Information: Hard Disk Space Available, Floppy
disk space available, floppy disk size, Windows operating
       mode,...
3. Open a Run Programs Dialog Box where you can launch programs.
4. Open a Move next window by mouse clicking dialog box
5. Open the Task List
6. And up to 5 more windows can be "Attached" to pop to the top
       with a mouse click.

******** Shareware ********

Accesses is Shareware. For now, the registration cost is $29.
Unregistered copies can temporarily bypass the NAG Windows.
Unregistered copies are fully functional. If you knew how much work
went into Accesses, you wouldn't believe how cheap it is.

Accesses Version 2.1 or later also provides the unregistered user the
option of deinstalling the WIN.INI and SYSTEM.INI changes on exit.

You can download ACCESSES from:

CompuServ - WINADV board (slow to receive updates)
CompuServ - NORUTL board (fast updates)
CompuServ - ZNT:TIPS board (fast updates)
     Genie - PCSUPPORT, 15, 3, 8, 6

monthly calendar that will alarm you on a particular date in a year,
date of every month, or day of every week. DayAlarm contains a days
between date calculator. DayAlarm uses less than 1% of your Windows
resources and about 10K so you can always keep a tiny calendar on
your display. DAYALARM.EXE is found in DAYALM.ZIP.

******** OVERVIEW OF AccClip.EXE ********

AccClip.exe "Ack Clip" is included with Accesses.exe. AccClip.exe
