Please read VENDOR.TXT for Shareware Information and Disclaimer.

All users should read CHANGES.TXT. There are sometimes (as now)
critical differences between how this Version operates versus
prior versions. ie. Do you know what an exclamation point on a
menu means? - That function executes immediately, right now, pronto,
and without any additional confirmation. (This follows normal
Windows conventions.)

The ARCH38.ZIP file contains the following program files:

ARCHV286.EXE	A Protected Mode version of Archives.
Compiled in the 286 Mode. Use this program
instead of ARCHIVES.EXE if you never
operate Windows in the REAL Mode. Slightly
smaller code and slightly faster. Do NOT
			rename this program to ARCHIVES.EXE

ARCHIVES.EXE	The MAIN PROGRAM compiled for Real, Standard
			and Enhanced (386) Windows modes.

			NOTE: For previous Archives users,
			ArcSetup.exe is no longer used!

ARCH.BAT	DOS Batch file used to run PKUNZIP, etc.
ARCH.PIF	Windows PIF file used to execute ARCH.BAT.
ARCHV.INI	A Windows type INI (information) file.

Misc Files:

ARCHHELP.ZIP	The complete documentation for Archive
in a Windows Write format. This compressed
file contains ARCHHELP.WRI. Use Archives to
			'CheckOut' this file.
ARCHIVES.HLP	A Windows on-line help file for Archives.
ARCH_INI.TXT	A description of the variables in ARCHV.INI
for those who fiddle with INI files.
	CHANGES.TXT	Lists changes between versions.
	README.TXT	These Start up notes.
REGISTER.FRM	A text Registration form that can be printed
			from Archives.
QUESTION.TXT	Answers to common questions, ie how to always
start Archives in my download directory.
for those who fiddle with INI files.
TUTOR.TXT	A quick tutor on how the Buttons & Windows
Work in Archives. Basic but Very Important
			Information.
	VENDOR.TXT	Disclaimer and Shareware Information.

If you need a WINDOWS REAL MODE version of ARCHIVES, you must use
ARCHIVES.EXE. You cannot run both ARCHIVES.EXE and ARCHV286.EXE at
the same time; however, they can both be in the same directory. If
you run windows always in the Standard or Enhanced modes, save the
hard disk space by not copying ARCHIVES.EXE to your disk, just copy
ARCHV286.EXE. These programs are located on some bulletin boards as
ARCR08.ZIP and ARCH08.ZIP.

None of the above files must be in your path statement.

If Archives.HLP is not in your path statement, then it must be in
the same directory as Archives.EXE or Archv286.exe.

If the two ARCH.* files are not in your path statement, then you
MUST confirm the location of these two files when you run
[Configure]+[Setup] and they must be located in a directory where
their directory+names is less than 30 characters. Setup will warn
you if there is a problem. The two ARCH.* files can be in
different directories, however, the ARCH.PIF must have the directory
location of the ARCH.BAT recorded the Program Filename.

Archives is expected to be released April 2, 1992; although, I am
typically a month or more late with my estimates. The file will be
called ARCHxx.ZIP, where the xx will be either 39 or 40.

Also look for ACCESSES, a windows Run/Placement program.
Found on Compuserve WINADV and GENIE Microsoft Windows.
