			WPWHOIS for VMS
			_______________

	This package is a port of the wpwhois (White Pages WHOIS)
program for VMS (running TGV multinet). The saveset breaks out into
the following directory tree:

  Device:[DIXIE] - DIXIE RFC and other information
  Device:[DIXIE.INCLUDE]        - Include files
  Device:[DIXIE.LIB] - Dixie library source and olb
  Device:[DIXIE.VMS] - VMS Command files and documentation
  Device:[DIXIE.WPWHOIS] - Main program source and exe
  Device:[DIXIE.WPWHOIS.REGEXP] - REGular EXPression library source and olb

('Device' is the device name (or rooted logical name) containing the
[DIXIE...] directory subtree).

	The directories contain object and executable files as well as
the source. If, however, the program must be rebuilt for any reason,
it may be rebuilt by following these steps:

	1) Break out the files from the backup saveset:

		$ BACKUP/LOG WPWHOIS.BCK/SAVE Device:[DIXIE...]

	   'Device' is the physical device name or rooted device
		logical name where the DIXIE directory will be
		located.

	2) Set your default to Device:[DIXIE.VMS] and execute the
		procedure WPWHOIS_BUILD.COM.  The
		procedure takes one (optional) parameter. The
		parameter, if specified, gives additional qualifiers
		for the CC command.

	   The procedure will ask if you wish to build the dixie
		libraries and next if you wish to build the regexp
		libraries. The first time you build the product
		answer 'Y' to both these questions:

		$ Build dixie? Y<cr>
		...
		$ Build regexp? Y<cr>

	   When the procedure is finished, it will instruct you to add
		one command to your SYS$MANAGER:SYSTARTUP_V5.COM file and
		one command to your SYS$MANAGER:SYLOGIN.COM file.
		Follow these instructions and the installation is complete.
