This file contains the current list of bugs which have been reported to us (The Developers & Telbug). Along the left side is who is currently working on the bug. This file is a little terse because it is mainly an internal document for coordinating of debugging. When reporting a new bug, please report what release version you found the problem with, try to duplicate the error and report exactly what you did when you created the error. Other useful information for our debugging includes: the list of messages on the console screen, what type of machine you were trying to connect to (Sun, VAX, etc...), and what operating system it was running (UNIX, VMS, Ultrix, etc...). We have access to a lot of machines here, but if we cannot duplicate your error, a lot of time gets wasted. -Chris Wilson Working on it: Known Bugs: Tektronix GIN mode is not fixed yet. Pasting with linemode doesn't print. Check into the tek bugs. Make telnet understand ph protocol(?). Add domain name stripping to domain lookup (?) (i.e. ncsa.uiuc.edu gets stripped to uiuc.edu and tried again). Check into PCPOP compatibility. (128.102.18.13) RG Grab the lpd server for telnet from ogre.cica.indiana.edu (129.79.22.178) in tn3270iu.zip. RG Check into LPTX utility on simtel which will re-direct the output from LPT1: Add line in the config.tel to be able to negotiate the window size. Enhance the vt100 emulation to support double width and double height characters. Add code for inserting characters in VT100 mode. CGW LPR won't send two or more files at the same time? Random Good Ideas: 1) Add support for two windows at once in vga 50 mode. 2) Keymappings for each session 3) Scripting for telnet connections. 4) Have a way to '#include' other files into the config.tel 5) Some way of reseting the ftp server! 6) Better control over rcp than "on" or "off", use a rhosts file! 7) Better status reporting for ftpbin. 8) Support the 3com networking driver. Possible enchanements: 1) Change the 3c503 to use non-DMA access. 2) Telnet for the blind options. Definite Plans for version 2.4: 1) Easy interface to Berkeley Sockets for programming. 2) Smaller, faster executables. 3) MS Windows native application for Telnet. 4) Text windowing interface for the MS-DOS version. Vague Ideas for version 2.4: 1) Appletalk board update. 2) VT200 emulation. 3) Tektronix 4105 emulation. 4) NFS client nad/or server. 5) Add support for fragmented IP packets.
