NetBSD's ash (Almquist sh) for Linux
====================================

Version of this Linux port: 0.1
Version of ash: ?.?

This a port of NetBSD's ash for Linux. It is not yet perfect as there may
still be some bugs or porting problems. The main reason I tried to get it
working is because INN 1.4 needs a good /bin/sh replacement (bash 1.12 and
other Bourne-lookalikes have too many bugs for running Configure scripts
or the scripts provided with, e.g., Cnews and INN).

If you find any bugs in this ash or have fixes, please report them to
c.o.l.development or me. I will try to release new ports of ash when
people send me bug reports with fixes. I'm not a real shell and/or Unix
expert (this is also the reason why mailing questions to me may not be
that useful) so if you want to become the ash-for-linux maintainer, mail
me! See the BUGS file for unsolved problems.

My goal for this ash: a small (and possibly fast) Bourne shell compatible
shell for Linux for running shell scripts. For interactive work I would
use another shell (bash, ksh or tcsh).
