4 Supported Systems.

Contents of this section

The Miniloader has been built and tested on the following systems (if you know of others than please do mail me):

  1. AXPpci33 (aka Noname)
  2. EB66+, 266Mhz 21066 based Alpha Evaluation Board,
  3. AlphaPC64 (aka Cabriolet), 275Mhz, APECS (2107x) based board and clones.

The system configurations that I have used (and therefore tested with) include the following devices (and if you know of more, again, please let me know):

  1. Number 9 GXE ISA Video cards and the Number 9 GXE PCI video cards,
  2. NCR 8100 SCSI,
  3. IDE disks,
  4. Standard 14" VGA monitors, Digital VRC16 Monitor,
  5. Digital LK450-AA keyboards

I'm not saying that it will not work with other video cards, however it does contain basic VGA initialisation code that *should* work with most ISA cards. The BIOS emulation code works fine with ISA and PCI Number 9 video cards, and the list of PCI video cards that work is growing all of the time. In general though, you are advised to pick an S3 based video card as currently the only Alpha X display driver is for the S3 chipset (unless you want to run character cell only).
