What would you like dselect to do ? Perhaps it should put a little notice in the conflicts/dependencies info saying `package foo is not available'. Then you could hit X to abort the change you made to start with. > There's a secondary problem that after selecting the last of the > available packages the resulting display is somewhat irrelevant. Huh ? I'm confused. There is a bug in 1.0.3 that prevents the last line of the package listing from being displayed - could that have something to do with it ? > There may be a tertiary problem (I tend to keep getting into a > recrusive package listing for ispell when I select unrelated packages > -- and when I hit return I get bounced back to the main menu), but > I've not specifically isolated what's going on here. Hmm. If you send me transcripts I'll interpret them for you :-). It says, amongst other things: A set of `suggested' selections has been calculated, and the initial selections in this sub-list have been set to match those, so you can just hit Return to ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ accept the suggestions if you wish. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Since the default is to deselect a package which conflicts with one you've just selected this is exactly what you want. As always, I'm open to concrete suggestions for improvement of dselect's user interface. My initial description was less than informative.] Basically, the problem I'm describing occurs when packages are recommended that aren't available (or don't exist). There's a secondary problem that after selecting the last of the available packages the resulting display is somewhat irrelevant. There may be a tertiary problem (I tend to keep getting into a recrusive package listing for ispell when I select unrelated packages -- and when I hit return I get bounced back to the main menu), but I've not specifically isolated what's going on here. -- Raul ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Acknowledgement sent to Raul Miller : Extra info received and forwarded.
