When using dselect, I interrupted installation after it had installed mflib but before it had configured anything. When I restarted it failed during the "preparing..." stage. The error message was rm: /usr/doc/texmf no such file or directory It looks like there should be an "rm -f" where there is presently only an "rm". I suggest this, because I reran the installation several times and each time it failed, then I did a "touch /usr/doc/texmf" and reran the installation and everything went okay.
