However, H.J. is currently looking for other maintainers to take over support of the extra libs which he has traditionally packaged with libc. What do you have $TERM set to, It seems my freshly compiled 1.2.11 is setting my terminal to dumb, but a dumb terminal where tput's clear works, and where vi and emacs work (which is why I hadn't tested the value $TERM before)...
