If TERM contains a terminal name not in /etc/termcap, tgetflag("hc") segfaults. mitchell@mdd.comm.mot.com (Bill Mitchell) ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Sat, 24 Jun 95 23:13 BST From: N.D. Turton To: debian-bugs@pixar.com Subject: Bug#1043: less segmentation faults with unknown TERM Package: less Version: 290 When less is invoked with TERM set to an unknown terminal type, it segmentation faults. strace say it does some setting up, reads in /etc/termcap, closes it, and dies. Example: bash# echo foo >bar bash# TERM=unlisted less bar Segmentation fault bash# TERM=console less bar foo bar (END) I am using debian 0.93R4 (I think. Let me know if you think this is important.) with a 1.2.1 kernel, and 4.6.27 libc. Neil. -- Neil Turton, Second assistant computer officer, Churchill college, Cambridge.
