SCO ANSI CONSOLE - KEYBOARD REMAPPING

SCO provides commands that allow the console keyboard to be
remapped. This is done by changing the responses to various
     scan codes.

By using these SCO provided commands, the keystrokes used to
run ANGOSS SmartWare can be made almost identical to the DOS
     product.

The steps required to do this are:

     1) Run the mapkey command to process a new scan code
response table. This maps required keystrokes to high
function keys. (E.g. Alt-A = fkey 65). It also makes
the ESC key produce a Ctrl-C and affects ctrl-cursor
keys. F12 has been mapped to ESC so F12 can be used as
          the lead in keystroke.

     2) The setkey command then assigns a key sequence to a
given function key (E.g. fkey 65 produces ESCa.)

A script file (angkeys) loads a specified scan code table
and performs the required setkey operations. A scan code
table has been provided for US, UK and German keyboards.
These tables may need to be modified to suit certain
     keyboards.

For more information on keyboard modifications for SCO
consoles, see the keyboard manual section. (Type
     "man keyboard".)

NOTE: The sco_term program, which provides a Unix session
when running SCO Open Desk Top, emulates an SCO console, so
all keyboard modifications will work. (I.e. The keystrokes
can be made identical to DOS when running ANGOSS under Open
     Desk Top.
