Cross-Platform

Developing applications with SmartWare PLUS will allow the
developer to market and sell their applications to any of the
supported platforms without modification or recompilation. For
example, you can build an application with Linux and run it on
Windows, DOS, or any of the other supported Unix's on X11 or
character mode. If you become an authorized developer, you can
resell SmartWare on the platform that your customer uses.

The currently supported platforms are:

        Windows
        DOS
        Linux
        HPUX
        Sun
        DGUX
        AIX
        Siemens MX300
        Siemens RN400
        NCR
        SCO
	SGI
	AT&T

All file formats, including compiled SPL programs are identical on
all platforms. Users running in diverse environments can share
files and use record locking in the database.

Via the SPL (Smart Programming Language) DBC_ functions you can
also connect to most major RDMS's via MVP middleware.
