VERSION 1.0 04/01/98
This is the first version of the Direct3D Wizard. I will now check out
how big is the interest for this program. Dependent on the resonance
I will more and more improve the features and functions.
( See the point IMPROVEMENTS )

PROGRAM

The Direct3D Wizard is a program to build up 3D scenes consisting of
meshs, decals, lights etc. You can use the functions which are
supported by Direct3D to manipulate all included objects. Position,
color, rotation, textures and more are adjustable for mesh-objects.
Light sources of all types can be set and adjust as you like. Up to
4 different viewports with each 4 different cameras are possible.

Meshs must be load from files with the DirectX fileformat .X . Decals
and textures are .BMP or .PPM files !

This program uses like Direct3D the left-handed coordinate system.
This means the positive z-axis points away from the viewer, the
positive y-axis points up and the positive x-axis points to right.

KEYS

    Always active:

      'F12' quit the program

Active when the mainwindow (in windowed mode) has the focus
    and in fullscreen mode:

'-' reduce the animation speed ( the initvalue is 1.0 )
      '+' increase the animation speed
'arrow keys' move the active camera left, right, up, down
'a' move the active camera in positive Z direction
'y' move the active camera in negative Z direction
      's' toggle the statistics output
(in fullscreen mode shows possible resolutions instead of statistics)

    In fullscreen mode:

'2,4,6,8' from the num keys (activate the num keyboard !) changes the
                resolution selection
      'cr' activate the selected resolution
      'ESC' back to windowed mode

REMARKS

The angles for all orientations are in degrees. The rotations are set
from a vector (0,1,0) by default.

With the Ramp driver you can select larger windows on most graphic cards,
due to the needed memory in RGB colormodel.

Disable the ambient light, to see effects which comes from different light
    sources, renderstates and materials.

Duplicated decals have the same transparent color and state.

If several meshs/decals are selected, some adjustments works only with the
    topmost object in the listbox.

IMPROVEMENTS

Support of all Direct3D animation-functions (key animation etc.). Important
    for camera through flights etc.

More different filetypes for meshs ( .DXF .3DS etc. )

User adjustable dither and shades settings for the textures.

An extern autorun-DLL to play the builded scenes in your own programs.

Selecting and changig of single faces instead of the whole mesh.

Select meshs, faces, decals and lights with the mouse.

Batchmode to play many scenes one after the other for a certain
timeintervall. Perhaps for intros or commercials.

    Moving/changing of texture patterns.

    Fog

    A windows standard help.

SCENES

I would be very glad if you can send me cool scenes which you have made of
your own. Please send me the .SCE file and all for the scene needed files
in a ZIP archive. If the scene is good I will integrate the ZIP for
download on my homepage. If you want I can make a link to your page !
