Alchemy Eye is a small utility that will help network/system
administrator monitor network server liveness. Alchemy Eye maintains a
list of servers (defined with their IP address and port number) and checks
each of them every N seconds by connecting/disconnecting the socket.

When server state changes (i.e. server goes down or wakes up), Alchemy Eye
writes event description to the LOG-file (a text file in the application home
directory) and optionally notifies administrator about event occured. The notification
mechanism is compatible with Windows NT Messenger service and Windows95 WinPopup
application so you do not need to have any special software to receive these
notifications. In version 1.1, notifications also can be sent by e-mail.

To run Alchemy Eye you need several DLLs (MFC 4.2) that must exist on
your computer. If you do not have them (and then when trying to run the
application Windows will report you that it is unable to find application or
it's parts) - you can download it from the program's homepage (approx. 500KB
zip-file).
