- 8 MB of RAM minimum
- Microsoft(r) Windows(tm) 95, 98, or NT 4.0

SETUP
=====

Installing VAKCER Project Tracker
---------------------------------
In order to install VAKCER Project Tracker (VPT), you need to run
Setup.exe program. Then follow the instructions to install
the product. It is recommended that you install VPT into
C:\Program Files\Vakcer\Project Tracker as suggested by default of
the Setup program.

After setup is complete, VPT is ready to run. You don't have to reboot
your computer in order for it to work correctly.

WARNING! If you are installing full version of VPT when you have the demo
installed, you must uninstall the demo and reboot your computer before
installing the full release version of VPT!

Upgrading from previous versions
--------------------------------
If you have the installation of a previous version of VAKCER Project Tracker,
you should use the upgrade version of the setup program. VPT 1.5 uses
different file format for project files (*.PRM) and project presets (*.PRD).
The upgrade setup will convert the default project file (Tracker.prm) and
project preset (Tracker.prd) leaving the older version for backup with
"backup_of_" in front of its previous name.

If you backed up some projects to another project files, you should
use Project Conversion utility available for free from http://www.vakcer.com/
to convert all your additional project files to the newer format.

Note, you can't upgrade a demo version of VPT. You need a full registered
version of the application to upgrade it to the current version.

Uninstalling VAKCER Project Tracker
-----------------------------------
In order to uninstall VAKCER Project Tracker, go to Control Panels accessible
from Windows Start menu/Settings... Select Add/Remove Programs, choose
VAKCER Project Tracker 1.6 (or VAKCER Project Tracker 1.6 Demo if you are using
the demo version) and press Add/Remove button.

After uninstall, you need to reboot your computer for the uninstall to complete.
DO NOT REINSTALL VPT just after uninstalling it without rebooting the computer!

APPLICATION LISTS
=================

Choosing supported applications
-------------------------------
VAKCER Project Tracker now supports a customizable set of applications supported.
The application data is stored in Application List files (*.TAL) stored in
AppLists folder within your VPT installation directory. To manage your list
of supported applications, use Application Manager utility provided with
VAKCER Project Tracker 1.6. This utility allows to choose which applications
to add to the list of the supported applications. Deselect any applications
you are not intending to use in the future. This will free up some computer
memory when VPT is running.

Adding new applications to the list of supported programs
---------------------------------------------------------
If you need to track programs which is currently not included in the VPT List of
applications, you need to install an additional application list file (*.TAL)
which you can download from http://www.vakcer.com/ as they are released.
To install an application list file, launch Application Manager program by selecting
it from Windows Start ment, Programs>VAKCER Project Tracker>Application Manager
and use "Install New..." button, choose from "Internet" and then check
the application(s) you want to install support for. The corresponding application
list files will be added to the tree list of active applications. Please note that
you need to restart VPT in order that the change be reflected in it.
You can request support for a particular application. For this, please visit
http://www.vakcer.com/support.htm and read the information about how to submit
data about the application you need added to the list of supported programs.
