YOU MUST HAVE MICROSOFT PLUS OR WIN 98 INSTALLED TO ACCESS
THESE THEMES

Theme's - You will notice that there are 3 types of theme
files in this edition, it was found that only certin ones
worked right inside different OS. Try each one until you find
the one that works best for you.

This ZIP file contains 3 files that are made for the
start up screens:
LOGO.SYS
LOGOW.SYS
LOGOS.SYS

Although this text is reasonably long, the procedure is *NOT* difficult and no
programming knowledge is required.

1. Extract the three files to a temporary directory.

STARTUP SCREEN

2. Either move the file called LOGO.SYS from the root directory of your boot drive,
(usually C:\ ) to another directory, or rename it (e.g. "WINLOGO.SYS")
(If you cannot see this file in Explorer, please see Note A and C below).

3. Use a DOS window or Explorer to copy the new LOGO.SYS file to the root directory.
(If you are using a compression utility, please see note B below.)

Example of DOS command: COPY C:\TEMP\LOGO.SYS C:\LOGO.SYS

SHUTDOWN SCREENS

4. Either move the files called LOGOW.SYS ("Please wait....") and
LOGOS.SYS ("It is now safe...") from your Windows directory, (usually C:\Windows)
to another directory, or rename them (e.g. "WINLOGOS.SYS" and WINLOGOW.SYS)

5. Use a DOS window or Explorer to copy the new LOGOW.SYS and LOGOS.SYS files to
    the Windows directory.

Example of DOS command: COPY C:\TEMP\LOGOS.SYS C:\WINDOWS\LOGOS.SYS
                            COPY C:\TEMP\LOGOW.SYS C:\WINDOWS\LOGOW.SYS

6. You're done! When you close down your computer, the new screens will appear.

NOTES:
=======

A. In standard Win95 settings, the *.sys file type is usually hidden.
You might therefore have trouble in finding *.sys files for copying files.
To see these hidden files, either:

   go to Explorer
choose View menu, then select Options...
in the dialog, enable "Show all files"

   or
use a DOS window, in which most *.sys files
   can be viewed normally

B. If you are using a compression utility on your boot drive, you must put logo.sys
in the host for that drive. (For example, if drive C: is compressed and its host
is the I: drive, then logo.sys should be placed in the root directory of the I: drive.)

C. If you cannot find logo.sys, even on the host drive (see Note B), chances are Win95
is using the logo that is embedded in io.sys as your start up logo. In this case,
you don't have logo.sys to backup. Simply place the new logo.sys in the root directory
   of your boot (host) drive.

D. To restore the original Win95 logos, repeat steps 2-5 with the original files.
