If you're a real Trekkie, does Simon & Schuster Interactive have something for you! The company unveiled its Star Trek: The Next Generation Interactive Technical Manual at the Chicago CES, and it gets you about as close as you can get to the bridge of the Starship Enterprise without leaving your home. This CD-ROM release is based on the book, which sold over 400,000 copies. Using more than 10,000 interwoven photographs from the set of the TV show, you're allowed to get close looks at items that you saw from a distance on your boob tube. Other CD games due out soon from Simon & Schuster are I.M. Meen, which features an evil librarian, something most schoolkids should be able to relate to; and MacBeth: The Game, which tries to trick you into learning about Shakespeare by entertaining you.
