The Psygnosis booth featured several new titles, some follow-up sequel-type games, and older popular games being transported to different platforms. Psygnosis has scheduled the release of yet another Lemmings title for the fall of this year. Under the working name of Lemmings 3, there is a good chance these little furry friends - yes, the ones with the lime green hair - will find their way back into your home once again. Lemmings has undergone some facelift type enhancements that should add even more appeal to the already popular game. The actual screen size of the lemmings has been increased. So, the little fellas have gotten slightly bigger. The addition of 120 new adventures and more user-friendly icons have reduced the amount of time required to send the little guys to their next task. If you are a fan of the previous Lemmings games, Lemmings 3 should be worth waiting for. Psygnosis has intentions of releasing yet another role playing/adventure game. This time it will be Discworld for PC and PC CD ROM this fall, and Sega CD in the spring of 95. You are free to travel through time and the many lands of Discworld that may aid you in the quest to rid the twin cities of Ankh-Morpork of evil dragons and their disruptive influence. Discworld looks brilliant graphically, and features an interesting transparent interface that does away with an icon bar. It will be interesting to see how gamers like the new interface. Theatre of Death is a PC action-based battle simulator with a bird's-eye view, and also gives the gamer complete control over soldiers (five platoons at once) and several attack vehicles. Your job is to obliterate the enemy over the course of 50 different missions that setting in four separate battlefields. Look for Theater of Death anytime now. Shadow of the Beast II is another game that is simply being transported to another platform. Why, you ask? Very simple. Shadow of the Beast and Shadow of the Beast II have been popular on Amiga, PC and home systems previously, so why not make it available on Sega CD, too. Shadow of the Beast II is a unique puzzle/arcade game that is accompanied by decent graphics and CD sounds, and should be available momentarily. Welcome to the dream world of Ecstatica, where you must battle the monsters and ever evil demons that haunt the mind of the young girl dreaming this nightmare. Using ellipsoid technology, Psygnosis has created a more realistic and less angular look than polygon-generated 3D games of the past. Mixed into Ecstatica are puzzle-solving, fighting and exploration, as you seek to solve this young girl's nightmares. Ecstatica will be available for PC CD ROM in the fall of this year, and the PC version should follow in the winter if '95. Flying to the Sega CD and PC CD ROM this fall is Novastorm from Psygnosis, one of the most well-detailed shooters to come our way in quite some time. The obvious implication of Silicon Graphics rendering and a CD based game give Novastorm the freedom to soar as high as it possibly can. The only remaining question is my mind is: Can you pilot the experimental fighter, Scavenger 4 ,with success and return freedom? Hexx Heresy of the Wizard is scheduled to be released at any moment, if not as we speak. In this role playing/adventure game, you must trek through labyrinth dungeons while combining quick reflexes with puzzle-solving abilities. Gain oodles of magic items to aid you in your voyage to be the best that you can be. Oh, by the way, Hexx is for the PC. Microcosm is slated to be ported to yet another platform, the 3DO, and it should be on its way soon. Noted as an "interactive cinema" game, Microcosm should be able to flex its "graphic" muscles on the 3DO system. Corporate mogul Tiron Korsby has a small problem (a deadly droid placed inside his body) that you must find and terminate. The only way to complete your "operation" is by making your way through Tiron's body via a miniaturized vessel. Good luck and aim well! After spending time on the PC, Lemmings 2: The Tribes is being ported to the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo. Feel free to allow these non-violent creatures to roam around your house and be ready to tell them which direction to go, because if not closely guarded they will plunge to their deaths, one way or another. If Lemmings 2 is not the "cutest" puzzle game, I don't know what is. If you loved the little green-haired guys and gals in the original Lemmings, be prepared to love them again and guide them to safety again and again and again. Psygnosis will be releasing The Misadventures of Flink this fall. This adventure/arcade game puts Flink through 50 levels that cover six different lands. Detailed and beautiful backgrounds are the home to many 3-D monsters that "jump out of the screen." Cast several spells that can be "pre-mixed" and saved until their use is required. This game has the look of turning several heads in the Psygnosis direction. With a host of games on the way, Psygnosis celebrates its tenth year with a game filled future, and with a big BANG!
