Microleague Interactive Software had four new games on display at the Chicago CES - three with a sports motif, and the fourth a new CD-ROM strategy adventure game. In Soccer Kid, our hero sets out to recover the World Cup, last seen heading to parts unknown in an alien spaceship. If the cup isn't found, the World Championships will be called off, giving the game a sense of urgency. Dribbling his ball around the globe, the Kid navigates over 30 levels of enemies in five different countries. Sabre Team, the CD-ROM adventure, puts you in charge of a British Army unit that must rescue four hostages being held by terrorists at the American Embassy in London. Once you've eliminated the terrorists, you'll be given four more missions to take on. If you think football is too violent, you'll probably want to give Blood Bowl a miss. It's the 25th Century in this game, and the residents of this future society have just discovered an old football stadium. This inspires a new, more lethal version of our present-day sport. The final new release from Microleague is Time Out Sports Basketball, another in the TOS series. Designed to provide a diversion for people who use computers at work, this includes mini-games of Horse, 3-Point Shooting, Hot Shot and Sweat Boy Practice, along with a package of screen savers. Microleague also had some previously released games on display at CES, including Bridge Baron, Silverball, Hannibal, Quarter Pole, and Time Out Sports Baseball.
