                              SETUP ERROR #2002

      BACKGROUND

SETUP Error #2002 occurs when the floppy drive writes information
to the Stacker installation disk incorrectly. The damage may result
from improper floppy drive alignment that is not within the
specifications of our disks. However, specific files on the disks
that you need to install Stacker are most likely already damaged.

      SOLUTION

Call Product Support Services to get replacement disks. Please
have your serial number ready when you call for replacements.

Once you have received the new (replacement) set of disks, the
problem is easy to overcome. To ensure that you don't damage your
new set of disks, we recommend that you create a working set of
disks from the new disks. Use this working set when you run
      Stacker Setup.

                                    Note
Your ORIGINAL Stacker disks contain bad
data, but they are probably still good
disks. Format them and then use them as
the target disks when you make your
working set of installation and system
disks. Put new labels on these working
disks so you won't confuse them later with
the master disks you just received from
                Stac.

To create the working set of disks from the new master disks:

       1. Format your ORIGINAL (defective) set of Stacker disks using
the computer on which STACKER is to be installed. (This
ensures that the disks are aligned with your floppy drive.)
If you are using DOS 5 or later, use this command at the C
prompt to format a floppy disk from drive C:
              FORMAT /U x: <Enter>
where x: is the floppy drive where the ORIGINAL disk is
           located.
           Format all ORIGINAL Stacker disks.
If you prefer, format under Windows or another desktop
           shell.
                                    Note
You might write-protect the new master
disks immediately to avoid any damage.

       2. Use DISKCOPY to duplicate the NEW disks (masters) onto the
ORIGINAL disks (the ones you just formatted).
In this example, we will assume the disk is in drive B. (If
the disk you just formatted is in drive B, remove it, then
continue.) Insert the NEW Stacker Disk 1 into drive B and
           type the command:
              DISKCOPY B: B: <Enter>
Follow the instructions to change disks. Make sure you use
the formatted ORIGINAL Disk 1 as the target disk during this
process. When the copy is done, DISKCOPY will prompt you to
copy another disk. Repeat the process for Disk #2 using the
corresponding disk. Be careful that you do not mix up the
           disk sets.
       3. When this process is finished, store the master disks (the
replacement disks). Do not use them for installation. You
should be able to run Setup from the working disks you just
created. Follow the procedures outlined in the Stacker
           User's Guide.

If the working set of Stacker disks still fails to work, please
use a set of new, blank disks to make another working copy of the
master Stacker disks. Try Setup again. Have this new set of
working disks ready if you need to contact Product Support.
