			X-Identd v1.5 32Bit Readme.

X-Identd is a Windows 95 Ident Daemon, It was written by Drago as Freeware which means it cannot be redistributed for any amount of money exchange unless otherwise specified by author.
You May Use X-Identd As You Please, But By Using The Using The Program You Accept All Of The Terms Specified In The Disclaimer.
The Program May Not Be Duplicated If Not In Original Packaging (ZIP, EXE). You May Not "HEX" Or Modify The Program In Any Way.

Uses:
A Identd is used to 'spoof ' a username. EX: if your real username is Drago, I would use the identd and for the username "Blah" when I went on iRC my /whois would look like "Blah@<My Host>" instead of Drago. A Identd also stops the ~ (tilde) from showing in your /whois on iRC also.
Identd Daemons can also be used to FTP, Telnet, WWW, or any other internet related item that checks ident.

Features:

- Status Text.
Gives You Full View Of All The Events Occurring. (Hits, Connections, Responses Etc...)

- Username/OS/Port - User Changeable.
Customizable Setting. Allows You To Set The Port It Listens On (113 Standard), Username, And Operating System (OS).

- Listen On Start.
If You Enable This Setting Every Time You Start X-Identd It Will Listen To The Port You Specified, Saving You The Trouble Of Doing It Manually.

- Beep On Hit.
If Enabled This Setting Will Notify You Every Time A IP Connects (Hit) To X-Identd And It Will Beep/Play Sound To Let The User Know That Someone Has Connected To His/Her IP And Has Requested A Ident Response.

- Go Offline After (GOA).
This Function Alows You To Set A Variable For How Many Connections You Want To Alow In What Amount Of Time Before X-Identd Goes Offline, You Can Also Set It To Come Back Online In A Certain Amount Of Seconds. This Is A Great Functon Against "Port Flooders".

- Wild Cards.
These Are Used In IP Bans/APR/AIR/Randomize Match Only/Port #'s (*/?), Wildcards Alow You To Make 666* = 6667 True, Without Them That Would Be Fasle.

- IP Bans.
Allows You To Ban A Certain IP To Deny A Ident Reply From You If A System From That IP Attempts To Connect To You. (The Effect Of This Is That So Anyone Trying To "Port Flood" You Will Not Be Able To Make You Respond With A Ident Response On Port 113 (Or Otherwise Specified) As Usually You Would Be Forced To. This Is Not Complete Security, A Firewall Would Be The Only Thing That Could ACTUALLY Ban A IP From Connection To Your IP.)

- Randomized Username Character List.
Allows You To Setup A Character To List And If You Have The Randomize Option On It Will Generate A Random Username And Will Respond To The Ident Request With That Username That Was Randomized From The Characters You Have Specified Or Default.

- Randomized Username List (RUL).
Allows You To Setup A List Of Usernames That You Commonly Use And Every Time A System Requests A Ident This System Will Randomly Choose A Username From The List You Have Generated.

- Auto IP Response (AIR).
Enables You To Input A IP And Have It Respond Specially To That IP With A Certain Username. EX: If You Are 'Cheese' On DALnet & 'Tweak' On Efnet, All You Have To Do Is Get The IP Of A Common iRC Server You Use For DALnet & Efnet And Input Them With The Usernames Desired.

- Auto Port Response (APR).
Enables You To Input A Port And Have It Respond To Any Request That Goes To That Port With A Certain UID. You Can Be "Nathan" On iRC (Port 6667) And "Bill" On WWW (Port 80)

- Hit List/Last Hit.
Tells You How Many Hits (Connections) Have Occurred Since You Started The Program. The Last Hit Tells You The Last Hit That Occurred From What IP And At What Time.

- Order.
This Alows You To Choose The Order In Which Random/AIR/APR Will Work In, Alowing You To Have Randomize On And Still Send Whatever UID To Any Port/IP You Want Using AIR/APR, And Many Other Orders WIll Make This Handy.

- Minimize On Start.
Just Add /m To Your Command Line When You Start X-Identd And It Will Minimize It.

- "Special Thanks."
Somewhere Hidden In The Program Is A "Special Thanks" Window, Can You Find It? (Its Not Hard To Find *Clicky* Clicky* *Clicky*) =)

System Requirements:
- *^*IPWorks Control Library. / Visual Basic 4 Runtime Library. (32)
- Windows 95/NT (Never Was Tested On NT.)
- 2Megs Free Hard Drive Space.
- 486+ (Recommended):Tested On P5-75Mhz.
- 8MB Ram+(Recommended):Tested On 16MB + Softram.
- Winsock Compatible Internet Connection:Tested On PPP 28.8.

*^*: I tried to include all the lib's I thought you would need to run this program but if if you get a message like "Unable To Load Or Register IPDAEM32.OCX" that means you will need the complete runtime lib's of IPWorks. If you don't have the registered version of IPWorks then you will get a 'Nag' screen every time you start the program, please do not email me about this, if you want the nag screen to stop register IPWorks.
Download Site (IPWorks):
ftp://ftp.devlink.com/pub/ipworks.exe
You will also need the VB4 runtime library ontop of the IPWorks library, this is a standard library and tons of people have it. You probley won't need to get this cause you probley already have it on your system, if you do need this contact Drago.

Notes:
- Please remember a Identd is NOT a 'IP Spoofer', I have seen some identd's flying around the internet claiming to be 'IP Spoofers' which they where not.
- If You Want To Buy Me (Donate) A Registered Winsock Control Pack, Feel Free. =)
- After v1.5 I think I will end production of X-Identd, it has features that some FTPD's dont even have, so I think v1.5 will do great for every need someone had ever wanted out of a ident daemon. Unless there is GREAT new ideas or alot of bugs found in v1.5, consider this the end of X-Identd, its been great writing this for everyone.
- If your using the configuration files from a older version of X-Identd you *MUST* flush them in v1.5 for it to work right (Right click in the main text windows (Status)).
- Im sorry if you have trouble with somthing in the program due to a lack of help files, if you need help with somthing feel free to email me.

Greets:
- To my X girlfriend rita for always being there for me and not bothering me when I sit on the computer 24/7 (hehehe, maybe she got fed up with me?, I was still seeing her in v1.0 :P).
- To my passed on father whos life was taken by a drunk driver (Support MADD).
- To my mother for always taking care of me, and for getting me my first computer, and all that other great stuff mothers do.

- To all my friends on the Internet and in real life DeaDFRoG, noelle, Dert, ElCapo, Blaise, fireforge, subtao, and a bunch of others that I cant think of right now.
- To Ms. Silverman and Mrs. McKnight for always kicking my ass and getting me back in order. And for everyone of you that uses my programs and encourages me to write more.
- More greets in the "Special Thanks" you need to find it =)
