Winuke
written by Atl@ntis
Winuke is the first and one of the most popular DoS attacks.Winuke requires only\y the IP of the victim and causes Windows 95/NT of your victim to hang, the phone line with the ISP stays open but the TCP/IP doesn't send or receive anything.
Winuke sends some characters to the NETBIOS port of Windows by using Out Of Band packets. This port is useless for most users.Windows support Out Of Band packets but doesn't know what to do them and in the screen of he user appears the blue screen with the error message and makes the user to reboot.
Microsoft has given some patches for this bug but they don't always work. The best solution for most of users is to close the 139 port manually, since it's useless for them. How can you close the 139 port?Just go to C:\Windows\System find the file named vnbt.386 and rename it to vnbt.closed and reboot your system.
