EGA Mahjongg Tile Set: RAP v1.1 For: Nels Anderson's EGA Mahjongg and EGA/VGA Tile Match shareware Tile Set File Name: RAP.TIL Subject: Rap musicians and instruments Created by: CJ Carey, Jr! Description: This is the direct result of an experiment with the Tile Maker program from Nels Anderson's EGA Mahjongg shareware. Since I like black music in general and rap/hip-hop music in particular, I did these tiles for my own enjoyment. My mother, who enjoys the mahjongg game but not the too-colorful flag tiles, liked these since they were still colorful yet not as hard on her eyes as the world flags. Since I figured, why hoard?, I decided to share this set with all of you. I may redraw some of these once I get a mouse, and maybe make more music-related sets, so please send me your address, whatever suggestions for music-related tiles you may have, and any amount of "contribution" you care to make. Contact: C.J. Carey, Jr!, 165 S. Wyoming St., Hazleton, PA, 18201-7061. Or you may leave any messages or suggestions via )(evious BBS at 516-###-#### or The Round Table BBS at 215-###-#### The first version was drawn in the order I designed them in, so there's no completely direct replacement (except for the dragons, winds, and flowers) with the original mahjongg suits. Future versions may be more organized. With this "new" version I merely substituted the 3rd Bass tile (out of respect since the band recently broke up) with one for the female trio TLC (of "Ain't 2 Proud 2 Beg" fame). I may revive the 3rd Bass tile on a future hip-hop set. To eliminate two questions about the tile subjects: There's no MC Hammer because I simply forgot, and there's no Vanilla Ice because the rap community does not respect him for the simple reason being that he is only performing the form for the money and not for the love of the music like the artists I have represented. I left out a lot more worthy names (including The 2 Live Crew and The Beastie Boys) unintentionally. SInce a lot of you may be unfamiliar with most of these bands and singers, I have matched up the artists with the titles of one or two of their better known songs. And if your interest is piqued with these tiles, I wholeheartedly encourage you to check these fine artists out. Happy playing!
