The fractals used to make this tile set were generated by the freeware program Fractint, by the Stone Soup Group in Compuserve's Computer Art forum. Once a fractal was saved in GIF format, I used a conversion program (also available in the Computer Art forum) to convert the GIF files to PCX files. It took a final trip through ZSoft's Paintbrush program to generate the correct pallette for Tilemaker to be able to read the PCX files. After that, the toughest job was trying to decide the choicest part of the fractal to clip for a tile face. Several of the files are represented more than once in the tile set. Thanks to the Stone Soup Group for their lovely program, and to Nels for adding the PCX import utility to Tilemaker. And, of course, my mom. What a long strange trip it's been!
