YZ is a computerized dice game of luck and skill for two players. GAME MENU To start a new game, click on the GAME Menu in the upper left-hand corner of the screen, and choose "START". To quit playing, choose "EXIT". PLAYING THE GAME You and your opponent take turns at rolling the dice. During each turn, you may roll from 1 to 3 times by clicking the "ROLL" button. At the end of each turn, you must post your score to one of the score categories or "scratch" a score. TURNS Your turn consists of from one to three rolls of the dice. For your first roll, all 5 dice are rolled automatically. After your first roll, you may elect to stop rolling and post your score, or you may select any number of dice to be rerolled by clicking on them, and roll again. Use the "SELECT ALL" button as a short-cut if you wish to reroll all 5 dice. If you change your mind about rerolling a die before you roll, you can click on it again to restore it. If you roll a second time, you may again elect to stop and post your score, or you may select any number of dice to be rerolled and roll a third time. After the third roll, you MUST post your score. POSTING SCORES To post a score, just click on the score box for the score desired. If you change your mind about a score posting, it's not too late. Just click on the one you really want, and the the score will be reposted. You must do this, however, BEFORE the next player's first roll. You may post your score to any unused category for which your final dice qualify, as follows: Score Category You Must Have Score ----------------- -------------------------- ----------------- ONES (A1) At least 1 ONE Sum of all ONEs TWOS (A2) At least 1 TWO Sum of all TWOs THREES (A3) At least 1 THREE Sum of all THREEs FOURS (A4) At least 1 FOUR Sum of all FOURs FIVES (A5) At least 1 FIVE Sum of all FIVEs SIXES (A6) At least 1 SIX Sum of all SIXs 3 OF A KIND (B1) Three similar dice Sum of all dice 4 OF A KIND (B2) Four similar dice Sum of all dice FULL HOUSE (B3) 3 of 1 die, 2 of another 25 SM STRAIGHT (B4) 4 consequtive dice 30 LG STRAIGHT (B5) 5 consequtive dice 40 YZ (B6) Five similar dice 50 CHANCE (B7) Anything Sum of all dice SCRATCHING Instead of posting your score you may "scratch" any unused score. You have to do this if your score does not "fit" on any unused score caegory, but you may also do it voluntarily if you feel it's to your benefit to do so. To scratch, just click on a score for which your roll does not qualify. MULTIPLE YZ BONUSES You are awarded a 100 point bonus for second and subsequent YZ's if, and only if, the first YZ was scored as 50. If YZ was previously "scratched", no bonus is awarded. YZ AS A JOKER YZ may be used as a "joker" if (a) it cannot be scored as YZ (i.e. YZ has been either taken or "scratched"), and (b) it cannot be scored in the upper section (i.e. YZ is all 4's, and 4's have already been scored or scratched). Under these conditions, the YZ may be scored on any available category in the lower section, including the Full House, and Small or Large Straights. If all lower section categories have been scored, however, you must "scratch" a score in the upper section. OPTIONS Menu Select "SCOREBOARD" from the OPTIONS Menu to display game statistics. Players interested in keeping track of their statistics should be sure to use the same initials each time they play. Select "COLORS" from the OPTIONS Menu to change game board colors, "DICE SPEED" to change the roll speed of the dice, and "SOUND" to toggle sound. Hope you enjoy the game!
