Defendroid (1.11) is yet another conversion of the classic old arcade game to the Microsoft Windows environment. The game uses DISPDIB.DLL for direct VGA access for high speed game action. The game will also run with the WinG library to enable operation within a window on the desktop although performance will be significantly reduced. The game features the following: Fast arcade action. Real time sound mixing of up to 8 channels. Some PC speaker sounds for those without sound cards. Fully customizable graphics and sounds. Record and playback of games. Cool Demo Mode. The facility to write your own Demo Mode DLLs Demo Mode statistics. Installation Run Install.exe and follow the instructions. Changes 1.11 Message Limit option to try to improve timing loop 1.10 Small bugs fixed in patch loading for game playback and restoration of game params on patch unload. 1.09 Fixed GPF when Demo Mode text overlapped screen edge Notes WaveOutReset may cause unacceptable clicks or delays on your system, if this happens happens try the Remix option in the sound config dialog. The game should run smoothly at 60Hz on most machines (>=486), the game synchronization loop is a bit experimental, if you experience jerkyness please e-mail me the symptoms and I will endeavour to fix it. Mircrosoft Intelipoint software appears to unaware of DISPDIB.DLL and can cause some graphics problems (the mouse pointer does not get turned off). Please e-mail me any bugs/comments Glen Summers, 17th June 1995. e-mail: gsummers@physics.ox.ac.uk WWW: http://sable.ox.ac.uk/~symons/glen/glen.html
