There are now two status bars on the bottom of the screen. One is for the new quick help while the other is the standard information box. For new users they should be helpful in learning the software. For veterans it will probably be annoying. So you can turn them off by choosing the menu item "QUICK HELP" under help or by entering the environment display area. Another nice feature is that you can decide not to show the status bars at all! The benefit is that you have a little more landscape on your Windows screen for other applications. To turn them off enter the environment area and change this option. We had several reports of our software not dialing certain modems. The system would either not respond or send an error message. I have completely rewritten this code from the bottom up. It appears to have been very successful. You can now register using your credit cards through an arrangement with PSL (Public Software Library). The most obvious change from this version (1.7) from 1.6 is the graphics. You now have the ability to show sharp graphic displays of system usage. To display the graphs select "environment" from the menu. Graphs can be copied to the clipboard, printed, written to a file (bitmap or metafile) and displayed on the screen. There are many graph types to choose from. The September 27th issue (Issue #25) of WinOnLine Review had many nice things to say about The Phone Master. It also commented that many "buried treasures" were available in the software and recommended making them easier to find. These options are now more readily available by using the expanded "environment menu". Thanks, Wolly, for the review. Registered users can now automatically update registered copies of The Phone Master by downloading the shareware version. The setup program will automatically patch the registered copy while still maintaining all available registered version perks. We have mailed the latest release to all registered users. The Environment area now displays Windows system information and detailed information on things that need to be done. The Time Master programming is going very well. We are very excited about the power this software will have. It will be able to link directly with The Phone Master. For example, you can make a note on the Time Master that you need to call "JOHN" at 1 pm. At 1 pm the Time Master will wake up the Phone Master and "ask" it to search its records for all "Johns" in your directory. After it collects this information the Time Master will sound an alarm and show you all the "Johns" the Phone Master located and allow you to dial the phone! Our release date is still late November '93 and we are offering a limited time pre-release price of $10 if purchased with The Phone Master prior to November 31. Response to the Phone Master has been overwhelming. We have had many more registrations then were ever expected. And from all over the world. About 50% of our registered users are from the US$. The remaining are from Belgium, Israel, Australia, Italy and elsewhere. Future releases of the Phone Master should contain the ability to change the fonts on the main screen.
