            *** LATE-BREAKING NEWS ***

 ***** TASKMAN.EXE ******
If you are updating your Command Post from version 7.0Q or older...
and you use the Command Post TASKMAN.EXE file, you MUST use the new version
provided with this program. It is NOT installed automatically. If you do
not use the new version, it simply will not work.

 ***** NEW FEATURES *****

This version of Command Post supports IF-THEN statements as well
as GOTO statements. See CP_HELP.CRD for new functions.

We've just added the WALLPAPER command, as well as ItemCount and
ItemExtract, along with DirRname commands in this version.

We've even added a FileAppend command.

We've Also added HOTKEY capability for menu items. You can add hotkeys
to menu items. Stuff like the DELETE key to delete files, etc.

ALSO Maybe you can save the cost of a phone call.....
Once Command Post is installed, the CP_QUEST.CRD cardfile in the
CMDPOST directory has a lot of good questions and answers. Your
question *might* be answered in the cardfile.

Please note the online HELP cardfile, CP_HELP.CRD accessible
from the Command Post menu. There is a SPECIAL SECTION in the front
of this cardfile that discusses functions NOT IN THE MANUAL.

We've included a manual on disk, called CMDPOST.TXT, containing
all the text in the real manual, but without the illustrations.

                        LEGAL MATTERS

Of course the usual disclaimers still apply. We are not
responsible for anything at all. Nothing. Even if we are
held responsible, the limit of our liability is the
licensing fees you paid. The full text of our license
agreement is found near the bottom of this file.

HOW TO INSTALL COMMAND POST 7.0

Command Post is installed automatically, via our SETUP.EXE
 program, as detailed below:

   1) Close down all extraneous Windows applications.
   2) Double-Click on the SETUP.EXE program
   3) When the setup program asks for a directory, specify initial directory,
or accept the given default (C:\WINDOWS\CMDPOST).

NOTE: If you are updating from a previous version, and made any of the
Command Post files READ-ONLY, remove the read-only attribute from
        the files before running setup.
(Or else the setup process will hang)

                    UN-INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS

If, for some reason you wish to un-install Command Post from your
system, here is a checklist for doing so.

 1) Examine the SYSTEM.INI file. If you manually installed Command Post
as your primary shell (See Docs), you must edit the SYSTEM.INI file.
       Change
           shell=cmdpost.exe
       to
           shell=progman.exe

 2) Examine the WIN.INI file. If Command Post starts automatically...
       Change
           run=cmdpost.exe
       to
           run=
If there is other stuff on the run= line, you probably want to
leave it there. Just delete the cmdpost.exe from the run= line.

 3) Delete the entire [CmdPost] and [Browser] (if it exists) sections
from the WIN.INI file. Actually you may leave them there, as
    it really does not matter.

 4) Delete the following files from the directory that Command Post was
    installed into.
        cmdpost.exe
        cp_dll.dll
        cp_tree.exe
        browser.exe
        wininfo.exe
        cp_blnk.exe
        cp_help.crd
        cp_quest.crd
        cp_info.exe
        cp_virt.bat
        cmdpost.cpm
        taskmanr.exe NOT TASKMANG.EXE OR TASKMAN.EXE !!!
cmduser.cpm (you may want to keep a copy around, esp. if you
have put some work into this file.)

5) If a file TASKMANG.EXE (NOT TASKMANR.EXE) exists, rename it to
TASKMAN.EXE file. (This is probably in the Windows directory.)
This is only necessary if you replaced the Windows TASKMAN.EXE
with the Command Post version of it.

6) That should do it.

                    ON-LINE SUPPORT

Command Post is has on-line support on a number of computer systems.

First of all, the home of Command Post is on Compuserve, in the
WINAPA forum, in the Wilson WindowWare section (#15 currently). Also
the latest and greatest downloads are available from DL15 of the
WINAPA forum. The Wilson WindowWare section of the WINAPA forum
is checked on a daily basis, and all questions will be responded to.

The FidoNet Windows echomail conference is also monitored for Windows
questions in general. Questions about Windows and Command Post will
 be answered in the echo.

If your budget is not able to afford Compuserve, we strongly suggest
that you contact your local BBS sysops and encourage them to carry
 the Windows echomail conferences.

                     CHANGES TO THE MANUAL

In the Window 3.0 appendix we tell you how to replace
Windows 3.0's Task Manager with Command Post. Microsoft
has since renamed Task Manager to "Task List". The Command
Post version of the may be found in the \CP-NOTES.TMP directory
with the file name TASKMANR.EXE (If you used our install program).
If you used the manual install, you can find it in the temp
 directory you used.
