XMAS.EXE electric Card by Bill Buckels Registration 5.00 OTHR SE90 BUCKELS XMAS THE TINY ELECTRIC CHRISTMAS CARD FILES: xmas-etc.sdn The Electric Christmas Card Kit is Contains a Christmas Card program called XMAS.EXE which allows a custom signature to be added to itself (a musical Christmas Card). This Program is intended to be distributed like any other Christmas Card. The Kit also contains a Compiler Module which replaces the greeting already in XMAS.EXE with a personal signature. The Compiler Module is Called MAKECARD.EXE and requires XMAS EXE in the current directory. Usage is pretty straight forward, and if you want several different Christmas cards all you need to do is to copy them after processing to whatever name suits your fancy. Makecard creates .BAK files just to be on the SAFE side. I have included the C language Source Code. ( I translated this from an old GWBASIC public domain program with minor modifications. The C program is only 12k and is a whole lot tinier an EXE than the BASIC VERSION compiled to.) Remember that if you are going to MODIFY the C Source Code, You Will Likely Need to rewrite the MAKECARD.EXE since the signature will be relocated and MAKECARD will not find it in the new program. Bsaved Text screens (like those created in THEDRAW or GWBASIC ) can be loaded into DUDEL to give the young user a background, and a quicksave feature allows the masterpieces to be saved for later recall. This one's noisy (F2 toggles the sound)but the kids like drawing in time to the music. This might make a reasonable stocking stuffer. (C language source is also included) And I have also also included (he he) a Memory Resident Text Screen Capture Utility Called GRABTEXT.EXE which will allow one to roam around and COPY 80-column text screens out of various programs to be EDITTED and resaved (in DUDEL or any other editor that accepts the .BSV format. A tiny BASIC prog is also included to show how to reuse these screens in BASIC Hardware Requirements: IBM PC or Compat Display Requirements : CGA or MONO Other Requirements : The Christmas Spirit _____________________________________________________________ (SDA format (c)Copyright 1990 The SDN Project - SDNet/Works!) _____________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________
