                                    MICAL
                   MIcrobiology Computer-Assisted Learning

Each diskette contains a separate MICAL patient simulation case. The programs
will run on any IBM-PC with at least 128K. A computer with a color graphics
adaptor and color monitor is preferred, although a monochrome system is
suitable.

To run a patient case, follow these steps:

	1. Load DOS 2.0 or higher.
	2. Insert the MICAL diskette in drive A.
	3. Type A: and press RETURN or <.
	4. At A>, type MICAL and press RETURN or <.

Once you begin, MICAL will provide all further instructions.

We strongly recommend that the Installation Procedure in Section 3 of the
MICAL Instruction Manual be followed in order to prepare MICAL Working
Diskettes. These diskettes will run faster and more efficiently. In addition,
they take advantage of an AUTOEXEC.BAT file on each diskette, so that the
startup procedure is greatly simplified.

If you have an IBM PC/XT or IBM PC/AT you can store all of the MICAL cases
on the hard disk drive. This requires a special installation procedure.
Please send a post card to the following address and we will send you complete
instructions and an installation diskette.
