NEWCLOCK v1.0 by BILL BUCKELS Registration $ 5.00 MISC MAR91 NEWCLOCK BUCKELS CLOCK TIME EDUCATIONAL CHILDRENS FILES: newclk10.sdn New to SDN C language source code included (MIX Power C Med Model). This is a clean and simple on-screen old-fashioned clock with hands and a face and intended to be used as a teaching aid for children learning to tell time. This is NOT a competitive game and is NOT designed as a challenge. The child must be reading at about a Grade 2 (Age 7-8) level to use this program. Rather than confusing the issue ( which is to introduce the BASICS of telling time) by cramming A.M. and P.M. and the 24 hour clock into one grandly BULBOUS DOORKNOB OF A TIME-BOMB and "confusing the view" with cute cartoons like most of the clock programs that we have known, we chose instead to provide the kid with lots of BASIC INFO. (That other good stuff just gets in the way and can come later.) Our clock ("Little Ben") is quite active and still fun in-spite of his simplicity. An explanation of the parts of the clock including "the little hand" and "the big hand" must be done in advance of using "Little Ben". The Time that is displayed on the clock is given in English at the bottom of the screen (i.e. "Twenty-nine Minutes after Three", etc.) and in a the now-familiar digital format (i.e "3:29") at the top of the screen. The clock is controlled by the user. As the time is advanced or retreated the hands of the clock move. The positions for the minutes are marked and the hours are each properly identified. _____________________________________________________________ (SDA format (c)Copyright 1990 The SDN Project - SDNet/Works!) _____________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________
