DX is an extremely POWERFUL command-oriented file manager that will replace many DOS commands and small utilities that you now use. In its simplest form, DX will replace DIR giving you a very fast, flexible, two-column directory listing -- but that's only the beginning! DX has enhanced versions of APPEND, COPY, COMPARE, MOVE, DELETE, and RENAME. It can "Go back to a previous .BAK file", change date/time and file attributes, test whether a group of files will fit on another disk, perform checksums and CRCs, and search and sort entire disks. (Sorting is VERY flexible.) Most of these functions can be applied to files within ARChives and LiBRaries -- imagine renaming or changing the date of a file while it is in an ARChive -- or comparing a file inside an ARChive to one that is outside! (Support for .PAK and .ZIP files are being added now.) DX can run programs against a set of files or build batch files to perform ANY task. All functions are verified by default.
