Fooling Foolproof

my school used foolproof and i have seen 2 articles
explaining how to take it off but i have another way
not mentioned. maby my school administrators are just
idiots but alot of administrators are idiots too so
this might work. under win 98 (What my school used)
you can go to start and shutdown. and shut it down in
MSDOS mode. it went in MSDOS mode and this was not
restricted. i thought they could take shutting down in
MSDOS off but apperantly they didn't. So others
proberly overlooked it too. from here you can take it
off quite easily there's propobly ways of editing the
startup files or something from here but i did it the
easy way. you should be in

C:/Windows directory

type cd.. to get to C:

then
type rename sss ss
(or any name doesn't matter)
(sss was the name of the folder foolproof was in)

then restart.

when it comes up there is a black screen when it loads
up saying something like cannot find file fpvxd.vxd.
Hit enter and it goes away and windows starts to load.
Now it is unrestricted and you can do whatever you
want.

(At this point you may want to install a key logger
restart with fool proof loaded and get the teacher or
administrator to type in the password. Mine was so
stupid i changed the background setting and said i
could change it back but i you need to take foolproof
off and he did. if you do that you can just type in
the password to take it off next time)

IF YOU DONT WANT TO GET CAUGHT. MAKE SURE YOUR RENAME
THE FILE IN MY CASE SS BACK TO SSS (OR THE ORIGINAL
NAME). You can rename it in windows you dont have to
go back to DOS since your now unrestricted so next
time windows loads up foolproof comes up like nothing happened.

By Will Bradley:

me and my buddies in 7th grade had the fortune of coming across win95 machines with foolproof on them. apparently whoever installed foolproof was a complete idiot (or we had an earlier version) because there was no bootlocking or partition changing on the machines- all we had to do was restart in safe mode and delete the pest. the "admin" didnt even notice.
