num2word

Category: Networking, IRC Tools, mIRC Addon Scripts

Title: num2word 1

Format: Win OS

Description: Custom identifier called $num2word that allows you to enter a number as the parameter and will return the number in words. Example, "$num2word(1234)" will return "one thousand, two hundred and thirty-four". While running through the script, I didn't encounter any errors. The script does support negative numbers but tends to stumble a bit on decimals .. but then, the author did say that the input should be integers so that's alright. Documentation is provided in the form of a few comments at the top of the remote file. This is not really practical as is, but a scripter might find some use for it ... while asking permission of course *grin*. Finally, the code is pretty good but the author might want to look into the built-in looping routines in mIRC.

quotes

Category: Networking, IRC Tools, mIRC Addon Scripts

Title: quotes 6.99

Format: Win OS

Description: A little addon that serves as a quote manager. The entire script is well documentated with a readme.txt file and also a dialog explaining various functions of the script. You can access the dialog windows via the channel and query windows. It allows you to add, delete and list all the quotes in addition to echoing a specific or random quote, or saying it to a query window or a channel. The dialog window is clean. The addon is best used with mIRC Version 5.6+ eventhough it does support mIRC version 5.5*. The coding is compact and clean. The author could have saved a few bytes by basing his dialog help window on his readme.txt file instead of hardcoding it into the addon, but that's a minor point. There seems to be some sort of confusion with the channel popups (they changed after I used the popups to get to the dialog), but it's not really a problem.

Title: ripewhois 1

Format: Win OS

Description: Addon that allows you look up domains, ips, ip blocks, etc. through dialogs. Nice documentation both on the script and on all the different features of the RIPE search system. I really do suggest this for the more advanced users as you the only ones who are likely to be interested in this kind of information. The dialog windows are clean and easy to understand. While I ran the script I didn't run into any bugs. The results are displayed in a custom window. By double clicking on it, you may chose to save the results in a *.log file. The only thing that I found a bit irritating was the fact that the window is one that easily dissappears into the background as it doesn't have its own switchbar icon. You would have to go into the Window menu to get it back. The coding is clean, well sorted. However, I think that there might have been a way to save a bit more on the amount of code if dialog objects had been a bit more organized - but that's a rather minor point.

s-Bfasa Addon Script

Category: Networking, IRC Tools, mIRC Addon Scripts

Title: s-Bfasa Addon Script

Format: Win OS

Description: Indonesian addon script with a number of features such as seen addon, channel flood protection (massdeops/kicks, underline, joins, nick floods, length, caps, etc.), a talker which basically adds a bit of colour at the beginning & end of your text (which causes problems in +c channels on DALnet, but oh well), some bot controls and appearantly also support for identification on DALnet & Undernet (not recommended). There are some other small odds and ends around as well. Since the script appears to be Indonesian, most of the documentation and the actual content of the script is as well. For example, I really couldn't understand much of what the addon told me when I tested out the !seen addon. =) Installation is fairly easy. Just unzip everything and load the sbiasa-addon-script-01.ini file. The script is listed as an all around script, however, you should already have a working copy of mIRC (along with your personal settings, etc.) before you start using this one. Dialog interface for some of the

sBNC Manager

Category: Networking, IRC Tools, mIRC Addon Scripts

Title: sBNC Manager 1

Format: Win OS

Description: Addon script with dialog interface that allows you keep a list of BNC hosts/passwords and the servers that you wish to connect to using them. You may also specify a vhost. *Note* This script triggers on "Welcome to BNC". The author wrote a nice readme file with installation instructions, description of the addon along with contact information. The script itself is easy to use. The dialog interface is clean and easy to understand. According to the author, the addon works with "BNC and EzBounce IRC bouncers". Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get the addon working for me at the beginning because the addon triggers on the notice "Welcome to BNC". I'm not exactly sure what the author meant by the BNC program, but the BNC that I am familiar with (and the one that most people of my acquaintance use ..) is the one made by pharos. More specifically, this one: "-Bnc- Level two, lets connect to something real now". In any case. :) I had to modify the remote file to recognize this sentence instead of "Welc
