eConsole - the console for Win32

WHAT IS eConsole ?

Technically speaking, eConsole is an enhancement to the Win32 console window.
In other words, it is a spiced up DOS prompt with a nice background image.

WHAT ARE THE FEATURES OF eConsole ?

* Transparency
    eConsole features a limited transparent background that lets your desktop
    wallpaper shine through the background of the console window.
* Ease of use
    eConsole is simply a wrapper around your current shell. That is, you
    won't have to get accustomed to a new shell whether you use 4DOS, 4NT,
    COMMAND.COM or CMD.EXE

HOW DO I CHANGE THE FONT/TRANSPARENCY/BACKGROUND ?

eConsole has a context-menu. Right-click into the window to pop it up. All settings you
make are saved in the .INI file.

WHERE CAN I FIND eConsole ?

The eConsole homepage is currently at http://www.informatik.uni-frankfurt.de/~corion

WHERE CAN I FIND COOL BACKGROUND IMAGES ?

I have some links to graphics sites on the eConsole homepage.

WHY DO THE LINKS NOT WORK (esp. amberConsole) ?

The links are absolute, that means that the .EXE referenced by them must reside in
C:\PROJEKTE\eConsole\Package - which is most likely not the case. Simply go to the
properties of the link and change the path there to the path where eConsole is.

eConsole DOES NOT WORK ! WHAT CAN I DO ?

There are some simple steps :
0) Remember that I'm doing eConsole for fun and you didn't pay anything for it. If you
   take the fun out of eConsole, I won't develop it further. So be nice to me if you
   want my help.
1) Rename the eConsole.INI file and try if eConsole works then.
2) Look at the FAQ at http://www.informatik.uni-frankfurt.de/~corion/faq.html
3) Run eConsole with the "-d" switch and look what the last message is
4) Mail me about it, preferably with a list of all messages that you got with the -d
   switch. Don't send me a screenshot unless I request it - my mailbox gets flooded
   with them !

Have fun with eConsole !
