-----[ Description ]--------------------------------------------

ProjectX Slashdot is a nifty little utility for viewing
slashdot.org headlines. slashdot.org is a daily updated site
with 'geeknews', 'news for nerds' ranging from about Linux,
Open Source software, legos, games, Star Wars, science,
technology and pretty much anything else that falls into the
"News for Nerds, Stuff that Matters" umbrella. In other words,
all kind of news thats geeks think is important enough that
other geeks want to know about. Come on down and check it out,
the geek in you will like it.

I did not create the "pxslashdot.bmp". I do not know who the
author is, if you do know who the author is, please email me,
and I will give him/her credit for it.

Note: The proxy support ONLY works with standard HTTP 1.0
proxy servers, if you have trouble with it, feel free to email
me at defsquad@projectx.mx.dk & maybe we can work something
out :)

-----[ Manual ]-------------------------------------------------

ProjectX Slashdot is a pretty much self-explanitory script.

All of the script functions are available through the popups
located in the Menubar & Status window.

Here is a list of the alias commands that control the script;

/sd-menu - This brings up the "main menu" dialog. From here,
you can choose to view the slashdot headlines, or update
the slashdot headlines.

/sd-begin - This brings up the "Headlines Browser" where
you can view the slashdot.org headlines.

/sd-config - This brings up the proxy configuration dialog.

Note: The slashdot.org headlines are cached when you
download them, so they may not always be up-to-date
when you view them..to prevent this, update the
headlines before you view the them..Also, you are only
permitted to update the headlines once every 30 minutes.
This is to prevent the server from being overloaded.

-----[ Versions ]----------------------------------------------

1.10

This release is basically a "follow-up" release to the
first version, 1.00. I fixed up basically everything that
I forgot to fix in version 1.00.

1. Corrected the time (now correctly displays the time in
   U.S. EDT)
2. Optomized code, brought the filesize of the script down
   about 4kb.
3. Added a little more detail when it downloads the source
   file.
4. Changed some of the dialogs around a bit.
5. Fixed some tiny bugs.
6. Fixed/updated proxy support.
7. Updated/changed some stuff for the new mirc 5.6.

1.00

This is the initial release of ProjectX Slashdot

-----[ Greets ]-------------------------------------------------

First of all, I would like to thank all of the ProjectX crew
for accepting me into their group, and for helping me out with
suggestions/bugs/comments on this addon. I would espically like
to thank UnConeD, Mentor, CodeRx, Pointer, Puzz13, and Kerion
as they gave me wonderful support/ideas for this addon.

Second of all, I would like to thank all my NewNET peeps. I've
known most of you for over a year & hope we stay irc friends
for a long time to come.

Third of all, I would like to thank some people in particular:
LuciferX, IRC--, soulja, decendent, rareair, royale, magus, and
all the other people in the channels I hang out in on NewNET.

Last but not least, I would like to thank all the other people
whose names I forgot to mention. I would like to thank all
the mirc scripters out there that make mirc a more enjoyable
experience.

I would like to give a fuck out to all the rippers, and people
who degrade mirc & mirc scripters.

And, I would also like to give a special thanks to all of the
slashdot.org crew, for without you guys, this addon
would not exist :)

-----[ ProjectX ]-----------------------------------------------

'ProjectX' is a Scripters Crew that focuses on creating scripts,
mainly mIRC and TCL scripts. We do not concentrate on creating
full scripts, but instead on creating practical scripts for the
lazy IRC-user, protection scripts for the threatened one,
warscripts for the aggressive or vengeance-seeking among us.

We are an organised group of scripters determined to help each
other create, develop, and refine scripts. We bundle our
knowledge, so that our inexperienced scripters may benefit from
our experienced crew-members, and our experienced crew-members
benefit from the enthusiasm and fresh insights from our newer
members. We concentrate on creating good, reliable, compatible
and useful scripts for mIRC users.

You can contact ProjectX in the following ways:
- Visit our homepage..: http://www.projectx.mx.dk/
- Visit us on IRC......: #projectx (Galaxynet)
- Drop us an e-mail...: info@projectx.mx.dk
