			*** Introduction ***
			************************

The Missile Command 2 (MC2) project started out as a contest on
www.pairc.com to write a classic arcade game in mIRC scripting (www.mirc.com).
Unfortunately pai has decided to have a vacation from IRC and scripting, so
I've come to the conclusion, that I must release this script somewhere else.

Some brainstorming time later, I decided to try and implement the classic
game of Missile Command that I have known since my days of Atari 2600.

The game comes in many variants, and applying every single detail is not
a good option in mIRC scripting. I came up with the idea to make the game
multiplayer, but this version does not support it... yet! Dont bug me if
you think the game is crap ... I can't use that sort of feedback. But if you
have an idea that might be cool, please give me a ring on ZnabelA@ZnabelA.dk !

This script game is (c) Robert Christiansen, and I urge you NOT to make profit
from selling this game! It's not fair to me or the person you sell it to!

If you wish to include this script on a public shareware/freeware cd, please
contact me first! My email is once again: ZnabelA@ZnabelA.dk

Tested on the following system:
Celeron 300a clocked to 450Mhz
64Mb SDRAM PC100
Matrox Millenium II 8mb at 1152x864 32bit color depth

NOT Recommended:
256 color depth ... somehow it all seems choppy!

Recommended:
Any screensize ... 640x480 gives a full screen effect ... almost! :o)

			*** Installation ***
			************************

First of all, MC2 is not a stand alone game. To be able to play the game you
need mIRC version 5.7 or later. mIRC is a chat client, but you do not need
to register to the IRC network to be able to play.

Once you installed mIRC, you must load the MC2.mrc file into mIRC. Please
follow these simple steps:

1. Start up mIRC
2. Press ALT+R to popup the remote script section of mIRC
3. Select FILE -> LOAD SCRIPT and point to the MC2.mrc file.
   (Or type /LOAD -RS <DRIVE>:\<DIRECTORY>\MissileCommand2.mrc)
4. Once loaded you should see the text in the remote script window.
5. Select OK

The game is now ready to be played. Right click in any window in mIRC or
select "Missile Command 2" from the dropdown menubar in mIRC.

			*** The Game ***
			************************

The game starts once you've selected "Play Game" from the menu.

- Scoring:
Each missile shot down will score points ranging from 4 - ??
Remember that the longer you let missiles fall, the higher they will score.
So just shooting down a missile immediately when it enters the "atmosphere"
won't give you many points in the end.

- Bonus:
You get bonuses for cities left when a stages has ended. Having the max
of 6 citites gives you a perfect bonus score.

- Extra cities:
You get an extra city added only if you have lost one ... and this only
happens at 1000 and then each time for the following 5000 points ... that
would be at 6000 points

- Pause:
You can pause the game while playing (only INgame, and not in the menus or
at the bonus) by clicking in the upper right corner where it says PAUSE.
It will blink indicating that the missiles/explosions have stopped. To resume
gameplay, click on PAUSE again!

- Hiscores
Pretty easy to beat a hiscore of 5000 ... Stage 6 should do it! :o)

- Stages
The game will become increasingly difficult! Dropping missiles get faster!
They become more numerous, and the chance of one falling increases by the stage!
The maximum number of anti air explosions you may fire start at 5 but increase
slowly with the stages!

- Dying
You die when all cities have been destroyed! Or when a missile hits your base!

			*** Version History ***
			************************

v0.7	First version ... lousy graphics, lousy updating, only base coded

v0.8	Houses was added, although simple at the time. Missiles added. Explosions
added. Pause feature added(Also made it easier to debug)

v0.9	Houses were made totally random, and windows were added. I hate having
100kb+ files of bmp's when scripting the graphics is possible.

v0.95	Random bug features and Bonus Stages was made

v0.96	Graphics updates and gameplay optimized

v0.97	Soon to be released but still missing the Game Over and High Scores
	Code optimization

v0.98	Game Over completed

v0.99	High Scores implemented and some optimisation

v1.00	Finished! Send this version to www.pairc.com so that it could be
	evaluated.

v1.01	Sometimes a variable doesnt decrease when a missile is shot down.
To this version, I could not figure out how to remove this "feature"
It affects gameplay seriously. Nothing to do but to restart! :o(

v1.02	Sound implementation. Possible to disable sounds, so that gameplay isn't
seriously affected! (mIRC5.6 does not handle this feature very well)
Now you can use the 's' and the 'p' keys to respectively switch Sounds
	on/off and pause the game!
The v1.01 bug still hasn't been solved! :o( Mail me if you have the solution!

v1.03	Ups! Forgot to leave out som debugging code!

v1.04	Added a high-score sound ... makes you really want to achieve that highscore
	don't you think? :o)

v1.05 Slight bugfixing

v1.1 mIRC5.7 "repaired" ... a few bugs in mIRC5.6 made v1.05 incompatible with mIRC5.7
These have now been removed and hopefully Khaleed won't change any crucial parts again!

mIRCv5.8 notes: MC2 has NOT been tested with mIRC5.8 and is NOT guaranteed to work!

			*** Troubleshooting ***
			************************

If the game shows no nicks in the hiscore list, or no missiles drop when you
start the game, please try one of the following options:
1. Make sure the game isn't installed in a directory that uses spaces in the
directory names. e.g.: c:\program files\mirc\mc2\ is NOT a valid install
valid install might look like this: c:\mirc\mc2\

2.	Try to delete the Missilecommand2.ini file (NOT the .mrc) and
restart the game! You may have lost the high scores, but now the game
	works!

			*** Future Versions ***
			************************

Possible things I might implement in future versions:
Sounds, Splitting missiles, Bomberplanes. A multiplayer version has also been
thought of.

v1.1	has none of theese features implemented yet!
