Broadcast Internet String Search Engine (BISSE)
-----------------------------------------------

[General description]

BISSE is the first of it's kind (public)
tool that enables you to scan wide areas of networks
for services. It can be used for example if a large network
with thousands of clients is beeing administrated to find
weak points on the network. Although BISSE is no real security tool
because it is only limited on the string it finds / the server sais,
it still has a high rate of hits.

[What it does]

After you have set all configurations, BISSE tries to connect to
each host and receiving it's welcome message. If a string in the welcome
message matches yours in the search string area it adds it to the
summary area including the IP. This way you can search for any sort of
service (even including trojan horses who print a message)
and find the weak points on your network.

[Technical background/features]

BISSE gives you the following features

+You can theoretically scan 'the IPv4 internet'
+It scans up to 255 class A networks
+It adds you the found hosts in real time
+It shows you how many matches have been found
+You can set an individual Timeout
+You can set an individual Port
+It shows you how many IPs were scanned so far
+It displays you the current string in buffer
+It calculates how many IPs are left
+You can set an individual search string
+You can change all configurations during the scan,
 it takes over automaticly
+Executable packed with UPX 0.92 (Note: SOME Anti Virus prog. might give alarm!)
 Loadtime increased

-The scanner uses only one socket at a time what makes it slow
 (->recommended to use 4 instances)
-The scanner gives you feature to change config during the scan
 what makes it waste ~210ms on each IP

[Use of BISSE]

There are basicly only 4 things you have to set to get it running.

1) From IP - End IP, enter the IP area you wish to scan
2) Timeout - The time BISSE will wait to establish a connection

   suggestion:
   default = 1400ms
   33,6K   = 1800ms
   56K     = 1200ms
   ISDN    = 850-900ms
   ISDN+B  = 600ms
   Faster  = 400ms

   please note that some servers are slow, so you might loose
   connection if faster than 900ms (!)
   Most servers need even 1400ms timeout.

3) Port - Enter a Portnumber you wish the scanner to run on.
4) String- Either choose a string supported with BISSE or enter your
   own one. This scanner will scan absolutely everything and find/report
   it as soon as the server prints a welcome message with a search string
   you've entered.

Note: Each time you press Start button it will load the BISSE website,
please let the site load, it is just for statistic how much this tool is
in use, if many people like it there will be updates for it.
