Some notes about proxy usage in DSNS

You can only use a proxy for each "verifying connection". A "verifying connection" is an extra connection that is made after an open port ist found if the protocol probe is not "Open Port". The actual port scan, that determinates wether a port is open or closed can not be done through a proxy, because it doesn't work through full TCP connections. Read the DSNS tutorial for more information on this.

DSNS supports 2 types of proxy connection: You can use your SOCKS proxy (Version 4), or, your HTTP proxy if it has enabled the CONNECT method (that is originally used for SSL connections).

I recommend to slow down the verifying connections by decreasing the "Max threads" setting in order not to "flood" the proxy and therefore denial its service in some cases.

Note: If you don't have a working proxy, you can easily set up DSNS to scan for SOCKS and HTTP proxys. If you find a working host, right-click it and select "Use as proxy".
