What is the linespeed setting about?

The linespeed setting lets you have control about the speed of the scanning. The greater the value the faster DSNS is able to scan. The speed is specified in bytes per second.

So, to enable the fastest scanning for your connection, the linespeed setting must match your uplink speed. If you use 64K ISDN connection for example, you can send 8192 bytes per second in theory. Anyway, you need to check which speed is recommend for your connection!!

You can probe this speed by ftp or send a file to a fast host, so that you can see how many kilobytes you are able to send. If your upload speed is 7,1 kb/s, you can set the line speed in DSNS to 7100 bps (actually i would recommend you to use a slightly less value)

Note: If you do not want to use your whole connection uplink for scanning or if you want to slow down the scanning, you are free to use a lower value (even if the scan is in progress).
