RELEASE NOTES

As of 12/7/97, the current version of Dietlog for Palmpilot is 1.1.
You can determine this by tapping on the menu silkscreen, and
selecting "about Dietlog". Or tap on the apple icon on the upper left
corner of the DietLog main screen (log page).

Version 1.09 fixed a bug that affected the use of the "Find" button
on the PalmPilot to find foods, and could result in a fatal error or
other odd behavior.

Version 1.1 fixes a bug that could hide some foods you added from
showing up in the Find pickers.

In this version the synchronization of DietLog meal records
and menus with the PalmPilot Desktop is turned off. This means they
will not be backed up. If you were to perform a "hard restart" (wipe
the Pilot clean) you would not be able to restore your DietLog records.
This is fairly rare. The reason for this is that there is
a bug in 3COM's sync routine that can, under some circumstances, scramble
the database links. It is more likely to occur if you are using a
macintosh to download and Hotsync with your Pilot. We are working with
3COM to solve this problem. It is not unique to DietLog. We are also
accelerating our efforts to release a DietLog conduit and PC DietLog
application that uses its own hotsync conduit.

NEW USERS:
For first time installation...see Handbook for installation instructions.

FOR UPGRADES ONLY: To update from a previous version... use your
PalmPilot 2.0 installer. Load the application only (NOT the database)
with the installer. You do not need to remove the previous version of
DietLog from your Pilot. Use the Hotsync to "synchronize" the new version
to your Pilot. This way you will not erase any menus or meals you have
recorded.

INSTALL PROBLEMS:
If you get install DietLog then when using it get the message "DietLog
cannot find the current version of the database", it mean the database did
not install. This could happen if you have an earlier version of
the Palm Desktop Installer/Desktop/Conduit Manager (earlier than 2.0).
Watch also to make sure you installed in the correct username (if you have
more than one).

If you are a power user who has customized their PalmPilot
Desktop so that the Desktop overwrites the Pilot (not the default
setting), AND you are upgrading, you should also remove the menus.pdb
and meals.pdb files from your desktop user backup folder.
