LUNAR LANDER based on the classic video game. Written by Eric Ries for the TI-82. The 4th game in the ERGAME pack. LUNAR LANDER is another rehash of the classic video game that many of you may or may not remember. Most people like this game the best, because it is both challenging and entertaining. To play, you will need: LUNAR SETLUNAR To keep score, you must have L6 empty, and with 7 slots, or have the my menu program, GAMES (part of the ERGAME pack) To play lunar lander, you must land your little lander module on a flat surface on the moon. If you miss the flat surface, you DIE. To control your movement, use the arrow keys: UP will fire your anti-gravity pods. These decelerate you proportional to the the gravitational acceleration (shown in the upper right hand corner of the scr LEFT nd RIGHT will fire thrusrs which will increase the horizontal component of your velocity (HORZ= on the bottom of the screen). Be careful; momentum is fully in effect here, and there is no screen wrapping. DOWN will give you an extra boost of speed (vertical component of velocity.) There is another catch. Your score is your fuel. You start with 100 points. every time you push a button, you expend 1 unit of fuel. Thus, you also lose a point. When you land safely, you gain fuel/points proportional to how fast you are going. Sound tricky? It sure is! LUNAR LANDER was written by me, Eric Ries, while in high school (well, I still am) and since I have so many boring classes I get time to program every now and again. I do not get to use the LINK for programming, so if you want to get a taste of what it's like, type these in BY HAND! I do not own a TI-82, I must borrow my teacher's. When I graduate, I will no longer have access to this 82.
