The MS-DOS version has some of the following files on the disk. The cost for cable and disk is $25. KERMIT.EXE An MS-DOS kermit program that talks with the HP 48. GROB2TIF.EXE An MS-DOS program to graphics objects into TIFF files (Tag Image File Format). APPT An appointment calender program for the calculator. USAG A calculator program that enables you to see the usage for any HP 48 command. Similar to the HP 28 CATALOG mode. CLK A calculator program that adjusts the calculator's system clock to keep it accurate. This can be used for navigation, etc., and addresses a lack mentioned in Dan's review. INPRT A calculator program that enables the HP 48 to receive infrared output from other HP calculators. This lets you `print' all the programs from your 28 (or any HP IR calculator) to the 48SX where, with a little editing, you can use them or save them to your PC. STPWATCH.LIB An HP 48 library containing a stopwatch application for the calculator. 25 lap times. I was not impressed by the several 100s of a second error on each key press, but this is all that most people will ever need. PCLPRINT.LIB An HP 48 library that enables you to print a graphics object on a PCL printer, such as the HP DeskJet printer. EPSPRINT.LIB An HP 48 library that enables you to print a graphics object on an Epson printer, such as the FX-85 printer. HP CALCULATOR BULLETIN BOARD SYSTEM ----------------------------------- An HP Calculator Bulletin Board System is available for the exchange of software and information among HP calculator users, developers, and distributors. The bulletin board operates at 300/1200/2400 baud, full duplex, no parity, 8 bits, 1 stop bit. The bulletin board is a free service--you pay only for the long-distance telephone charge. Most of the above was shamelessly copied from the readme file on the disk that comes with the Serial Inteface Kit. alonzo alonzo@microsoft
