** UoSAT SPACECRAFT OPERATIONS **

UoSAT-1:

UO-9 will execute a two-week operational schedule of Telemetry/Bulletin/WOD
and Status Messages. The 21 MHz beacon will be ON, 2.4 GHz OFF.

UoSAT-2:

UO-11 has been returned to normal operations following problems experienced
with the new FORTH DIARY On Board Computer software loaded for the first
time last month. Diagnostics have not shown up any software faults and so
memory 'worm' tests will be scheduled in the new year to assess whether
there is a 'bad' portion of the 32 kbyte memory which is normally used for
WOD but which FORTH DIARY was using for its own purposes. The 'worm' tests
will 'wriggle' through the memory writing and reading repeatedly from each
location to check for correct operation. The original DIARY will be left
running over Christmas!

** METEOROLOGICAL SATELLITES **

NOAA-6, launched 270779, de-activated 310387
NOAA-7, launched 230681, de-activated 070686
NOAA-8, launched 280383, de-activated 090186

(Portions of the NOAA-8 spacecraft battery apparently broke away from the
satellite on 301285 and were reported to be in orbit near the main body)

NOAA-H launch has been postponed from 051187 to mid-April 1988 to permit
replacement of SBUV instrument.


** UoSAT-C **

Work on UoSAT-C is progressing apace at UoS targetted at a launch in late
1988, the mission, objectives, payloads etc will be described in detail in
future Bulletins - watch this space!

There is an opportunity for an experienced RF engineer to work at UoS
alongside the UoSAT Team on UO-C, anyone interested should contact:
