Today's Topics: Railroad Radio Frequency List (3 msgs) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: 4 Dec 89 20:46:38 GMT From: ncelvax!greg@nosc.mil (Gregory K. Ramsey) Subject: Railroad Radio Frequency List Message-ID: <596@ncelvax.UUCP> This is part 1 of a 4 part posting of railroad radio frequencies. Part one includes this introductory posting, and an explanation of the various abbreviations used in the following list. This list of frequencies has been culled from a variety of published sources as well as the actual scanning by myself and others. Particular thanks are due to Bryan Hunnell of Costa Mesa for input into this particular revision. Permission is given to distribute these lists freely by any means provided no fee is charged. Please keep my signature lines intact so users can send me any corrections, additions or confirmations. Where I have left areas, states or assignments blank, I would especially like information from readers to complete those sections. Part II is a list of Railroads I have included in my list with the abbreviations I have used. I would like to correct this list to show the actual RR reporting marks. If anyone can supply this information I would be deeply appreciative. Part III is the actual list sorted by Railroad and assignment. Part IV is the list sorted by Frequency. Abbreviations used in the list include; FAP The channel number for the freqs in the RR Band ACT Activity level, VA=Very Active, A=Active, SA=Some Activity, -=No Activity found, H=listed for historical reasons. (they may use it again) If there is an entry in this column, it means that either I or another contributor has actually scanned for this frequency. If no entry, it usually means I got it from some published source. input Input to a repeater, the repeater freq is usually given in the comments. rep Repeater, the input freq is usually given in the comments PBX The railroads radio-telephone system. If you listen to ANY of these frequencies, please send mail to me so I can update the list. I obviously can't travel all around (as much as I would like) just listing to the radio so this list is only as good as the feedback that I get. I would like to expand this list to cover more of the country, so if you favorite RR isn't listed, send me the numbers and locals and I'll add it to this. Please fill in all the blanks if you can. I would also like to hear comments on the format of my list. I will attempt to respond to all suggestions, but be patient, the Navy isn't as interested in trains as I am. This list is being maintained and produced using the Reflex database. If you would like a copy of it on disk, send me a 5 1/4" floppy with a stamped & addressed return mailer and I send you a copy of the latest version.
