The K4HAV 10-10 Contest Program was recently used by the author (K4HAV) in the Summer 1990 10-10 QSO Party Contest. After working 805 stations during the contest, the log and dupe sheet was printed in less than five minutes. The program is similar to the CT and NA contest programs used by the author and other contesters as described in an article in the July 1990 QST, pages 14- 17. It uses many of the same keystrokes, but has features needed by 10-10ers. Some of the features are: 1. Capacity for 2500 QSO's with all information in memory for instant access. Each QSO is written to disk as logged. 2. Stations worked in the first contest are converted to a database which is available for the second and later contests. If a station has been worked in an earlier contest then his info is displayed on the log screen for correction and/or confirmation. This will save much typing and the other station will be amazed at your memory when you say "Thanks Bob for the call - nice to work you again." As more contests are worked your database will grow as the new stations worked will be added to the existing database. There is a function key (F3) to defeat the database checking procedure if desired. Depending on the computer memory the database capacity can exceed ten 13000thousand calls with info. 3. Provisions for partial call checking against database and current log. For example: if you hear a station signing "Alpha Victor" - entering "AV" for the call and hitting F8 or F9 will give a list of calls or calls w/info on a pop-up screen. You will probably see the call K4HAV on the screen. 4. If only a 10-10 number is heard then F7 gives a pop-up window for checking to see if the station has been worked or can be identified from the database. 5. Choice of on-line editing for last 9 QSO's or full log editing from a window displaying 46 QSO's per screen. 6. A complimentary copy of the K4HAV condensed version of WA6POZ's database of all 10-10 numbers - callsigns and silent key indicators is included along with K4HAV's version of a SEARCH program that loads all info into memory and is extremely fast and compact. 7. Many other features including on-screen help - on-line duping - automatic DX country recognition - display for requested DX prefix or country - display of states needed for 'CONTEST WAS'. The update current score - operating time - overall contest rate - last 10 QSO rate and last 100 QSO rate are displayed after each QSO is logged. Documentatin printed on a laser printer as well as detailed help screens. 8. Written in MicroSoft Quick-Basic (assembly used for all search/sort routines) by James D. Hardy - K4HAV - owner of Hardy Data Systems - developer and distributor of software for AM/FM radio stations and the florist industry. 9. Printer support for IBM/Epson compatible printers and the HP Laser Series II printer. Dot matrix printer codes can be user modified. 10. Hardware requirements are IBM/compatible with 640K memory for maximum capacity. Can be used with 384K with reduced capacity. Hard drive recommended. Printer capable of compressed print. 11. Although not copy protected the owner's name - call - 10-10 number and address are written into the program code. The program is priced at $20.00 ($25 for DX Air Mail) and is available on either 5¬" or 3«" diskettes. Please state disk size (and whether you can user High Density disks) - make your check payable to Hardy Data Systems and include your name - call and 10-10 number.
