Article 2610 in rec.radio.shortwave: From: rfc@briar.Philips.Com (Robert Casey) Subject: Radio New Zealand Schedule Keywords: schedule Message-ID: <104105@philabs.Philips.Com> Date: 20 Jul 90 03:49:51 GMT Sender: news@philabs.Philips.Com Organization: Philips Laboratories, Briarcliff Manor, NY Lines: 79 copied from amateur radio packet: From: ka2raf@nn2z.nj.usa.na To: swls@allbbs Subject: R. New Zealand Schedule 6/11/90 June 18, 11 p.m. EDT Radio New Zealand International made wholesale changes to its schedule on June 11. I assume the schedule change was to get away from Radio Moscow and Radio Station Peace & Progress that landed on 17680 kHz after the seasonal change March 25. The following was received via fax direct from Rudi Hill, Senior Producer, RNZI, at 7 p.m June 18. I believe it differs from the information aired on Radio Japan's DX Corner on June 17th; later that night I sent a fax to NZ to request the official information... ================================================================ Frequency & Program Information Effective June 11, 1990 UTC Frequency --- --------- 1900 Sun - 2200 15485 1800-2215 Mon/Thu 15485 0000-0200 Mon/Fri 17675 0430-0815 Mon/Fri 17675 1800-2200 Friday 15485 2200 Fri-0645 Sat 17675 0645 Sat-1100 Sat 9855 0100-0800 Sun 17675 Coverage of the Cricket tour of Great Britain by the New Zealand team will be carried on match days from 0815 UTC on 9855 kHz. Our Programmes Our programmes are primarily for listeners and radio stations in the Pacific, and most of our programming is oriented to this area. We are aware of the wider international audience listening to our broadcasts and attention to programming for this audience is now being addressed. Our programming prior to 2200 hours UTC each day features news and features in Pacific Islands languages; from 0000 UTC emphasis is on New Zealand news and current affairs; and the transmission from 0430 is directed to Pacific Islanders but with programmes and news of interest to the wider international audience. We present a programme specially for shortwave listeners and DXers on the first and third Monday in the month at 0430 UTC. "Mailbox with Tony King" is repeated the following Friday at 1905 UTC. The programme features letters from listeners which contain items of interest to the wider shortwave audience, radio topics from the South Pacific, and up to the minute input from Arthur Cushen. "Travel Pacific with Susan Buckland" covers items of interest to the visitor to the South Pacific and is aired on the second and fourth Monday at 0430 UTC, with a repeat the following Friday at 1905 UTC. Reception Reports We welcome reports and comments on our programmes. DX reports should be accompanied by 3 IRCs and a self addressed reply label where possible. Cassettes are NOT required. Note: From July 1990 some changes in transmission hours are planned. Details will be given during transmissions later in June and in Mailbox. ================================================================ Radio New Zealand International's address is PO Box 2092, Wellington.
