STARTING IN FEB, 90, GOES-5 WEFAX WILL BE SIMULTANEOUSLY TRANSMITTED TO GOES-7. IN LATE JUNE, 90 GOES-5 EFAX WILL BE TERMINATED BECAUSE OF ITS CONFLICTING POSITION WITH GOES-7. AN EXACT DATE/TIME WILL BE ANNOUNCED. ALSO, AT THIS TIME GOES-7 WILL BECOME THE OPERATIONAL EAST WEFAX SATELLITE. GOES-7 WEFAX WILL BE AFFECTED BY VDM INTERFERENCE AND REDUCED TRANSPONDER POWER BECAUSE OF PRIORITY VISSR DATA. USERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO TEST RECEPTION OF GOES-7 OR GOES-6 WEFAX BEFORE GOES-5 WEFAX IS OPERATONALLY TERMINATED. A GOES-5 DRIFT SCHEDULE WILL BE TRANSMITTED VIA WEFAX, I.E.: "OPERATIONAL MESSAGE".
