Here is a method of determining which freqs are used ina celluar system and which ones are in what cells. First off the freqs are assigened by channel numbers. and for all channel numbers in both wireline and non-wireline the formula is as follows: Tx Freq = (channel number x .030 MHZ)+ 870 MHZ Rx Freq= (channel number x .030 Mhz)+ 825 Mhz Now Band A (one of the 2 blocks) uses channels from 1 to 333. To construct a table that shows freq by cells use chan 333 as the top left corner of a table. The next entry to the right of chan 333 is 332,the next is 331 ect. down to chan 313. The next entry is 312 which goes underneath 333. and then 311 goes under 332.ect. So now each chan that is across the top is the 1st chan in each CELL of the system. Each chan DOWN from the first chan is the next freq used IN that Cell. You may have noted that each channel down is 21 channels less in number. You can then find all the channels in a cell if you know just 1. Usally you can find the data channel as the highest numbered channel in a cell. This method is for OMNI cells. That is what most systems are today. The next band uses channels from 334 to 666. Make your table the same way with chan 334 in the upper left corner. 335 is the next entry to the right. You will note that in this case each channel in a cell is 21 channels Higher than the top entry in the table. The data channel should be the lowest numbered channel in each cell this time. Again OMNI cells. Comments are welcome. Joe bartlett
