This is a very well-run affair, the auctioneer (whose name escapes me for the moment) does an excellent job, and the organisation is slick throughout. The auction is a regular item on the club calendar and is the Bill Shakespeare Auction to honour a club member who put a lot of effort into the club over the years, but who has now retired from active participation, leaving it to the younger ones. It is a good social event as well. For local or near Sydney amateurs, mark your calendar for this month next year -- some very good bargains to be had. --------------------------------------- CQ/RTTY Journal WW RTTY Contest September 24-25 ----------------------------------------------- CONTEST PERIODS: STARTS at 0000 UTC Saturday, and ENDS at 2400 UTC Sunday, a total of 48 hours. Actions and decisions of the Contest committee are official and final. AWARDS: Plaques will be awarded to the first-place finishers in each of the operator classes. Certificates will be awarded to second and third. Certificates will be awarded to the first-place finishers in each DX country.
